Perastos only cynical bad value restaurant. 6 days here, and we've enjoyed every meal, except this one. A half plate of watery lentils? €13.50...i get that asking for salad and chips instead of the rice offered may be an additional charge.. when do you want to know about that? When you order or when you pay? The 2 desserts include espresso....we don't have coffee at 930pm. May we have 1 scoop of ice cream instead? Sure...guess what? It's also added later. Order water? Sure...they bring you the €9.50 not the standard €5.50 one...we caught that one...thing is, at every turn where there was a way for them to say, hey, tourists are temporary, charge them the Max, they did. How was the food? Watery lentil soup was ok, though small...the frozen chips, meh...the shropska was decent...the beer on tap and the almond tart good. €64 for that is the most we've paid, for the least we've had. But it's the cynical view of tourists that gets the 1*. Our business is hospitality. That's not about agreeing with customers and smiling. It's about creating an experience of trust and respect. 1* for that. (Waiter was very apologetic and offered to battle the owner. But I figured aggravation and disharmony were not worth the €18.)

So, instead of checking out the church on the island I separated from our group and went into Bistro Sijavoga for a cold one...at 10AM. I was the only customer in there and the lovely waitress took my order and served me up a cold one. I ordered a meat and cheese tray that was all local foods and was DELICIOUS (see pic). A little later a gentleman sat at a table next to me and we struck up a conversation. Turns out he was the owner of the bistro and we had a very pleasant conversation about food, drinks and Montenegro. And it also turns out my waitress was his wife and between the two of them I not only had excellent service, but an excellent host as I literally became apart of their family. I highly recommend Bistro Sijavoga for the "cafe" experience of Montenegro. Good food, specialty beer and the view of the water is incredible. Thank you my friends!

This place is really bad and I would avoid it at all costs. The location is wonderful and the service is friendly but the menu is a tourist trap. I ordered one of the most expensive dishes on the menu, seafood spaghetti that claimed it came with prawns but didn’t. It comes with muscles and calamari that must have come from a 3d printer as they were rock hard and had to check my teeth afterwards. Never experienced over cooked calamari ‘chunks’ like it. Pasta sauce was runny, watery and made by a child out of his first lesson in food tech at school. Check my picture and run a quarter of a mile further down the street towards Kotor direction to find a better restaurant. Any other is better that this daylight theft. They did do taste pomegranate and mint juice.

For all of those wanting to sit here I recommend avoiding this place all together. We had a group of Turkish people, mostly older women not yet settled down in the tables maybe 2 more guest not from our group. The waiter came already in bad mood, saying bad things in Serbian about Turksih people I heard and I said we should leave immediately. These people had good manners and not one of our guests behaved badly. When we confronted first the waiter said I don't remember you coming here and he said I don't care you can go then later we confronted the owner the owner didn't care at all and had the same attitude and said if you don't want don't come. Waiter then said you are always making troubles and mess which is not true. How he knows now we made troubles when he doesn't remember us as he says??! Our groups were always nice people just wanting to sit down and drink and relax. If they had bad experience it was not with us and I would understand if we made mess or something else but it's unacceptable and very rude to behave like this. Very arrogant. When we brought them whole winter groups and everywhere was empty then it was okay. Now as I noticed it's happening in whole Montenegro, summer period they are becoming rude to the tourists and don't care even about normal professionalism at work. Shame it's like this I am truly...
