Tucked inside the elegant 18ᵗʰ-century Bujović Palace, the Perast City Museum offers a fascinating look into the golden age of this small but mighty Adriatic town. Once a proud maritime hub under Venetian rule, Perast trained ship captains, sailed with its own fleet, and built lavish stone mansions still standing today.

Inside the museum, you’ll find:

🌍 Nautical maps, navigational instruments, and captain's logbooks from the 17ᵗʰ and 18ᵗʰ centuries

🎨 Portraits, uniforms, and family relics from Perast’s noble seafaring families

⛵️ A recreated captain’s salon showing how Perast’s elite lived during its maritime peak

📜 Historical documents, weapons, and artifacts from Venetian, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian times.

The ticket is 8 EUR / person but it is totally worth it - the museum is very well preserved and curated. The staff very nice! Highly recommended if you want to learn more about the history...

Some more storytelling would do the collection well. There is an impressive collection of Persian and Arabic awards somebody from Perast has received, but it is not...
