I spent 9 days in Essaouira and had kite surfing lessons at BleuKite. The whole service was remarkable. When booking my lessons, they first offered to take care of the accommodation. Not knowing Essaouira, this proved extremely helpful and comfortable. They booked me in a nice and quiet Riad in the Medina, very close to the heart of the old town and yet in a calm alley, which was highly appreciable. Being an instructor myself, I usually have a very critical eye on teaching and safety matters. I can tell, the quality of both is very high. Youssef is a top-level instructor. I was amazed by the level of detail in his observations, what he was able to notice even in the distance, and the precision and helpfulness of his feedback, instructions and explanations. I can’t find a sufficient superlative to describe how acute and technical he was, as well as kind, patient, encouraging, and always smiling and positive. The audio system on the helmet is also very precious: having real-time feedback while out on the water is so useful, I could immediately feel the effect on my navigation when when applying the instructions I was being given. And also see that Youssef never takes his eye off the ball. Last, the whole team is just fantastic. So much kindness, joy, helpfulness and good spirit warmed my heart. I had a blast, I learned a lot and...
Read moreIn August 2021 I was lucky enough to visit Essarouira for 15 days, where, almost by coincidence, I chose BKS as the place to learn kitesurfing. I cant be happier with my choice.
My instructor, Imad Khafi, is the nicest person in Morocco. He is passionate about kitesurfing, which he managed to transmit to me, he gave me safety tips that I will never forget, he taught me to think for myself to become independent as soon as possible and he had me sailing in the sea about 6 hours into the lesson (sounds like a lot, but it's not).
At BKS they take great care to make sure the weather conditions for each lesson were right. One day the wind went out in the middle of the lesson and Imad decided to cut the lesson short and reschedule it for another day. Not many people would have done the same. The rest of the staff is amazing as well. Everyone with a smile on their face, very willing and eager to help. The kite equipment used for the lessons is in perfect condition. Everything is new, reliable and safe. The prices are very good too.
Thanks to everyone at Blue Kite Surf for having me with you. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Totally recommended!...
Read more❌Spent 600€ and I would not recommend. If I could choose again, I will go for other 5 stars reviewed shop. 😧I personally perceive the staffs at the counter as arrogant, ignorant, unhelpful and unfriendly. Those are the small elements, which will ruin the learning atmosphere and your experience. Attention‼️they will lure you in pretending to be friendly for the first session and the more hours you take, they know you are locked in and they will show the true face. Here are some examples: 1. they do have a card machine, but just to make your vocation life more difficult (or maybe for tax avoidance purpose), they ask you pay all in cash. For us, we had to take 600€ out in cash 💶 2. In Morocco, where there is a culture of bargaining and price negotiations, if you politely ask “is there any chance to have a discount?”, the answer would be “you think you are in a market!!? Where did you learn this?” in an educative and sarcastic tone.😬 All the review above refer to the staff at the counter not to the kite instructors. Kite instructors are...
