Great walk round the basin. Make sure you do the whole loop. We saw cormorant, kingfisher, pukeko and of course TUI! The basin is drain twice a week so different both times you walk round. Worth stopping at the Orakei Village for a coffee too! Just by Meadowbank train station so easy to get to from the city.

The site of some building remnants that has a pathway from Orakei Road to Shore Road. It has really nice views since it looks above the basin. The entrance to the carpark is on the Orakei Road side of the reserve.

Excellent location to excercise or walk your dog. Nice and flat and safe from traffic. There are some benches along the way and a good amount of street parking near the Upland Rd access.
