Orakei Bay — Attraction in Ōrākei

My sister had her wedding here 8/8/15. To find a venue that could cater all our needs in the Auckland area was proving difficult. Until we found Orakei Bay. It was such a blessing to find Orakei Bay.

VENUE On viewing the venue we were overjoyed that the venue provided great space for everything we wanted to do i.e. the ring ceremony, canapes with entertainment and the reception. My family and I are hygiene freaks so it was also important that the toilets was beautifully clean and modern too (its all in the details people)

STAFF Sean was great to deal with and answered all our queries and concerns. We confirmed final details with Nicolle who ensured everything went smoothly on the day.

FOOD Our main concern was that the food portions would not be large enough for our Pacific Island family. Sean organised a tasting for us and we found the canapes, mains and desserts was more than enough and of great quality.

DECORATIONS We did our own decorations and Nicolle and her team accommodated us during this stressful process. But the end result worked for us.

ON THE DAY The day was amazing! The service was on point. The food was spectacular! The venue fitted our 180 guests perfectly

AFTER THE DAY The staff packed down our decorations and all we needed to do was collect (no extra charge). This was a huge help, because the last thing we wanted to do on the day was stay back and clean.

RECOMMENDATION I would say don't look any further for a venue that meets your needs, costs, space, elegance and food. Orakei...

We attended my nephews 21st here at the Frame Room last weekend. It's a hit and miss location to find at night, the lighting is quite poor along the road but there is the ability to turn around to get back once you miss it, maybe some lighting on the sign could help. They did explain the council operate the carpark lighting, however investing in some spotlights from the building would significantly help. Frame Room was a cool and great venue itself. Pinball machines and pool tables are excellent for entertainment and they have a bar with a space you could use as a dance floor. We loved the outside seating area overlooking the sparkling lights on the water. They provided lovely platters in canapés style and cheese boards. They have system to show PowerPoint presentations, and a microphone. The staff were young and polite, but several people commented they were a little chilly, maybe could have been more proactive to attend to people waiting at the bar.
