Edit: changing my review after my last 2 massages didn't go well. The first massage, I paid extra for the injury/ special massage, hoping to get relief from my lower back pain. Told them about the specific pain beforehand, the masseuse completely forgot to focus on it (and me being a bit of an introvert, I could not remind her again), but even she said in the end that she forgot to focus on the lower back. I sent them an email explaining the situation, they offered a 20% discount for the next massage. Went again to redeem the offer, asking them to focus on the left side of my back (and a crick in my neck). Felt like it was a terrible mistake going. I know I'm stiff but my god, the way the masseuse went at it on my back with her elbow! I agree at the start she asked if she can apply the most pressure and I agreed too, but she also did tell me to let her know in case it was too much, which I exactly did. I kept telling her how painful it was, she kept insisting, "just one more minute" and went at my knots with all her might. I was thinking the whole time that this massage is more painful than relaxing and hoping that the next spot she focuses on would not be painful. I left with not only my left side hurting, but also my right side! The masseuse even made a joke about how I will leave with pain which wasn't even there (I did laugh uncomfortably too). While leaving at the reception I thanked them and when asked did say that I felt good (I absolutely did not) because I didn't know how to say that it hurt more than relaxed me to their faces. Sent them an email 2 days later, describing the situation (because I was hurting at 2 am and had to take a panadol). They said they would get back to me after talking to the masseuse, and responded a few days later saying they talked to the masseuse and stand by their professional because if she would have lowered the pressure, it "would compromise the effectiveness of the deep tissue massage". I left with a little bruising and swelling on my back. It's going to be almost two weeks and I AM STILL IN PAIN! I will be going to a physio tomorrow, where they are more responsible. I've given 2 stars because before the past 2 massages I've had a great time with them, just DO NOT go there for a focus on any injuries or pain and go to a proper, trained medical professional like a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy dad doesnāt rave. Heās not the āwellnessā type. Heās old-schoolāraised on hard work, sore backs, and a shrug. So when he walked out of a hot stone massage grinning like heād just dropped a decade of tension at the door, I paid attention.
Dani. Thatās the name. File it away.
He went in stiff and skeptical. Came out loose, relaxed, and borderline evangelical about the whole thing. The pressure was firmer than he usually goes forāhe mentioned thatābut not in a bad way. It hit the right spots, the way someone does when they actually listen to a body, not just go through the motions.
The stones helped. Of course they did. Heat and hands in the right rhythmāitās ancient for a reason. But what mattered more was the precision. Dani knew what she was doing. She found the knots, leaned into the right muscles, and left the unnecessary fluff out of it. The man felt reliefāreal, noticeable, immediate. And if you know anything about lower back pain, thatās not something you fake.
He walked out lighter. Looser. A little taller, even. Not cured, sureābut better. And when youāre in your seventies and living with daily aches, ābetterā is gold.
So here it is: thank you, Dani. You didnāt just do your job. You gave an old man a break from the grind of gravity. That matters.
Heās already planning his next visit. That says more than...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my second time with them and I went with my husband for a couple's massage this time. I opted for a Relaxation massage with Dani and a Deep Tissue for my husband with Jibby. I enjoyed it as much as I had the first time. When it was over, my husband said that this was the best massage he had ever had and he actually then said that the All Blacks team should probably come to Eden Thai for their massages. :-) He was very impressed as well. Thank you Dani and Jibby for giving us a fantastic and invigorating massage. We highly recommend this team and are thinking of making it a bit more regular.
This was my first time at Eden Thai and it wonāt be my last! After a hectic holiday with lots of physical activity, I really needed a good massage to ease and relax my aching muscles. Dearna paid close attention to what my needs were and focused on those areas while giving me a wonderful Relaxation massage all over. I also enjoyed my chat with her. I am certainly going back again and would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a good massage. It is a real bonus to have a great massage place so centrally located with an experienced team of masseuses offering various treatments at affordable prices. It...
