My husband bought me a $240 Cinnamon Projects incense burner set for Christmas (as a surprise), and I sadly bought one online at the recent Black Friday sale…he was gutted when he found I had bought it for myself and told me straight away. I had also just a $240 facial at this place where the steaming machine malfunctioned and they thought it appropriate to give me a tiny chocolate as compensation. I let the issue with the facial slide, and given that we had just spent close to $700 at this place, we thought these people would show some understanding about getting our money back for a double up on the gift…we were wrong. These people showed no sympathy at all. They were actually horrible. It’s like they refused to acknowledge a mistake was made, and we didn’t need two $240 incense burners. They refused our plea for a refund, and made us take a credit note which is really of no help at this time of the year. I went to The Tonic Room because I have had a lot of stress in my personal life - my mother had been on life support for the last 3 weeks and I just wanted some escapism. Yet going there has only bought me more stress. My husband was just trying to do something nice for me, and I was just trying to feel partially human again after one of the most horrible experiences of my life. This place acts all caring and zen, but our treatment shows they are nothing more than greedy and heartless. Thanks for my $240 voucher for Christmas Tonic Room....
