Thank you for your reply, but I feel even more disappointed after reading it.
Your message focuses entirely on defending your position rather than offering a genuine apology. The tone may sound polite, but there was no real acknowledgment of how your staff’s words and attitude made us feel. If your approach had truly been “kind,” I wouldn’t have left upset enough to write a review.
To clarify again: I was holding my 2kg Chihuahua in my arms the entire time. He never touched the ground. I was standing far from any sauces, utensils, or seated diners — in fact, there was only one person at a table, as the other had gone to the restroom. That person didn’t express any discomfort. We were simply looking around briefly, and being spoken to in such a harsh and dismissive manner was completely unnecessary.
We made a special effort to visit your shop after confirming with your City branch that this location had outdoor seating and allowed dogs. I expected warmth and hospitality, not judgment and excuses. Your reply only reinforces my disappointment — not because of rules, but because of the way we were treated, and the fact that you’re now distorting the situation instead of sincerely apologizing.
The review before: We specifically called the City branch beforehand to confirm that this Grey Street location had outdoor seating and allowed dogs. On our way back to Auckland from Raglan, we made a special stop here based on that information. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. It was in the afternoon and there was only one table occupied—just one person was actually seated as the other had gone to the restroom. We were carrying our tiny 2kg Chihuahua the entire time—he never touched the ground—and we stayed far from the other customer. When we briefly walked past a closed freezer, a staff member rudely told us (in Chinese) that we were disturbing others. But the seated customer didn’t seem to mind at all, and probably didn’t even understand what was said. The staff’s attitude felt completely unnecessary and unwelcoming. We won’t be coming back or...
Read moreFood is okay. I am a frequent visitor and order cold soybean egg pasta noodle a lot because it’s convenient and fast to cook and eat. One of the kitchen staff said “are you going to order Zhajiangmian again?” I said “Why? Is there any issue?” She said”no no no” then the counter lady said “why you always order Zhajiangmian?” I said “because it’s cool and easy to eat unlike other ones that are overly cooked, temperature wise or spice wise”. Counter lady said “ ohh there are several days you didn’t come” I said “ Am I obliged to come? Are there discounts?” “No 16.9 nzd please”
I am a bit of fed up by their attitude so I am giving them an honest review here. I mean if you gonna judge and bully on your customers. What do you expect in return?
Basic decor. A street food style dining experience. Some respectful staffing would be greatly...

What an absolute disgrace of a dumpling house. I don’t even know where to begin. The soup came out stone cold, the vegetables were clearly old and not fresh, and the entire meal was barely edible. I've had dumplings from food courts that were leagues better than this.
This wasn’t just a bad meal — it was the worst dining experience I've ever had. The food was flavourless, soggy, and clearly not made with care or pride. Honestly, I wouldn’t serve this to my worst enemy.
And to top it all off — the glowing reviews must be fake or bought. There is no way this place is getting genuine 5-star ratings. Something doesn’t add up.
Do yourself a favour: stay far away. There are plenty of other places in Hamilton that actually care about their food and their customers. This...
