Read moreWe went to Events Cinema to watch a movie as a group of 5. The facilities were very clean and were not busy so we had lots of space. I was disappointed again that we have to pay such a high ticket price and then have commercials showing on the big screen (not previews of movies) prior to the movie starting. It has been a while since I have gone to a movie theater and I assume they are struggling because of things like Netflix as well as covid-19. But they have been showing commercials prior to all of this as well. This does nothing to encourage people to come and watch movies in a movie theater. I didn't time how long we had to wait for the movie to start (after the stated starting time) but last time it was 20 minutes. One of our friends had to go to the toilet less than 30 minutes into the movie and went out the wrong exit, he tried to come back in through the main entrance, but was unable to as it was locked. It is unfortunate that no staff would let him in as he could have proved that he had paid to see the movie. He ended up going to a bar to wait for us to finish. Overall it was a good experience, but there is room for improvement to the overall experience, especially cutting out commercials prior to the...
Read moreReceived a $50 parking fine for accidentally parking in what I thought was a normal (free) parking spot near Woolworths/ the chemist The signage that said this area was paid parking was quite far from the parking spot, hanging on a perimeter fence and was white writing on a black background. It was on the perimeter fence that was backed by trees etc making it blend in. This did not stand out at all and I did not see it.
Right out in front of the parking area is a large and brightly coloured Woolworths parking sign with an arrow. This was easy to see and I thought it was letting me know there was additional parking in that direction. I would not have parked there if I had known I needed to pay as there were multiple free parking spots available at that time. I was very upset to come back from my grocery shop (30mins) to a $50 dollar instant fine.
Please learn from my misfortune and check your surroundings for paid parking signs. They seem to be deliberately difficult to spot. As a result I won’t shop in this area again and will warn others about this misleading...
