Stayed for 2 nights on a powered site with my son in our camper. Booked online, and received a booking confirmation, all tickity boo, until the day we arrive to check in. Mr tough guy owner tells me “you’re one of these invalid cards” as he slams a piece of paper in front of me. This was a surprise to me, so I told him I’d just check as I thought payment was made, well Mr Tough didn’t like that! “Go on, piss off” “ you’re calling me a liar” etc etc. told him politely I was entitled to check what he was saying was correct, and never said he was lying and to please calm down ,and if so I’d pay happily (I already received a email confirmation for my booking remember). His wife comes out and tells him to pull his head in and blames the busy season…anyway long story short, turns out the camp is still in the 1990s, there online payment isn’t online at all, it’s a manual process by the owners and the owners made no attempt to notify me before hand that it was unsuccessful due to a digit in my card number being wrong, “I’m a busy man” he said when I asked why no one contacted me… judging by the park, the state of the facilities, I beg to differ sir..||||All amenities were well below standard.(Watched a gentlemen I assume works there attempt to fix a door with a roll of sellotape).||||I ask the owners, if they bother to read reviews, is your heart still in it? As a lot of people are being let down by your below average standard of service and care.. ||||Be better Alexander’s...

Read moreRang to enquire about booking a cabin, with the intention of also keeping our very expensive bicycles in, over a long weekend. The owner is a very grumpy guy with a distinct lack of customer service that got really grumpy when I asked him if we could keep (very clean) bikes in the room. No ifs or buts just an unequivocal "NO" and then rambled on without giving any sound reasoning (Hey it's his place so he can do what he likes I suppose). It's lucky we didn't just go ahead and book a cabin online to find that out as there is NOTHING in their Terms & Conditions to book that state his "Terms". Seems other Google reviews show his unstated "Terms" can be an issue. Hey Alexander Holday park - Maybe update your Website Terms with all of your "Conditions". Oh, and maybe try being nice...
