Initially we intended to eat in the restaurant but the fumes from the kitchen were too strong so we opted for take away instead.
We live in Thailand and were stopping in Picton overnight near this restaurant. The staff are from Thailand so we thought we’d stick to the Thai food. (Been missing it for two weeks)! We had Thai food only and can say that it was very hot (heat), plentiful and very tasty. Masaman Curry was so creamy and actually better than most we have tried in Thailand. We always have Tom Kha Gai (Chicken coconut soup) and this was so full of meat and mushrooms compared to what we are used to. Could have done with more lemon grass and ginger flavour for our taste though! Finally, Pad Thai with Chicken...so much food in one tray. Great flavour with spices on the side and didn’t taste of fish sauce which is often used to excess in Thailand.
A wonderful meal, served with a Thai smile. It’s a shame we’re moving on as this would become a very regular place to...

The waitress said it could take up to 5 minutes before she could come back & take the order, (if we wanted to we could have gone up to the counter & ordered), however, she was back two minutes later to take our order for a chicken green curry (medium spicy) and a chicken peanut Satay Stir Fry. Both dishes arrived at the table promptly and both came with rice and both were delicious. Serving sizes were generous with ample meat and a good selection of vegetables with the dishes. At $20 each we came away feeling we had got value for money (buying as a takeaway is no cheaper, so eating in if you are travelling is a great choice) Décor is quite basic - but that means you can concentrate on the food more. The restaurant...
Read moreOmg where have you been all this time! One of the very best Thai dishes I've had (and I've had way too many) around the world! Looking at the signage in the dark, we decided to give it a go being one of the only restaurants open at Picton at 2000 on Sunday night!
Wow! from the attentive and friendly services, (from the waitress to the chef) to the excellent wok skill, texture and flavour of our dishes, you can't not fall in love with it immediately and wanna come back for more! The place is simple, homey and minimalist inside, but the outside is nicely done on the deck.
With outstanding dishes like this, I don't care if I have to sit on the ground in the carpark and eat out in the open (I guess that adds the "authentic Thai feeling")! If you haven't tried it yet, you don't know what you have missed out...
