Broadway Motel — Hotel in South Island

The good thing about the honeymoon suite are the views of the hills, trains, industrial area, supermarket/gas station and ferries, also has a spa bath and the balcony. I say that room can be used as a virtual background for MS Teams Meetings at work. I also managed to get a late check-out and referrals for calling a shuttle from the hotel to the train station, along with a helping hand, getting the 23kg luggage upstairs. ||However, whoever put those energy efficient LED circular lights didn't do a good job with the finishing touches, it look like a cowboy renovation. Also, my unlimited 4G Internet is more reliable than the WiFi for Streaming content Ondemand (Sorry Sky, but it doesn't cut it, unless the All Black's are playing). However, thanks for allowing me to plug in my Apple TV device for streaming (some Hotels has disabled HDMI access). So if you don't have a deal with your mobile data provider, don't be streaming movies...

Great place to stay in Picton. Big rooms. Like Apartment rooms. Biggest rooms we have seen and we travel a lot. Big Jacuzzi tub. Big bathroom. Kitchenette. No stove but they will bring one up if you want it. Microwave. Hot water kettle. Refrigerator. 2 T.V.'s, one in living room, one in bedroom. Kitchen table. Nice patio overlooking the train tracks and city. Nice location. Grocery store across the street. Easy walk to the waterfront and many stores and restaurants within a 5- 10 minute walk. Only negative was the occasional noise from the trains and fire siren which went off 3 times one day. But I would definitely stay here again. Picton is a fine little town. On several booking pages (in my case ebookers/expedia) it is still mentioned that washing machine and dryer are part of the room facilities. Unfortunately, I realized that this is not the case. Instead, a washing machine and a dryer are in a communal area, they are in poor condition, and cost 3NZD per load. Despite of that, the room was just average cleaned, the bathroom was a typical NZ low standard with a vinyl floor. Overall the whole room was a bit out of shape. On the other side, the bed was very nice and the rooms have a beautiful view. But it's not worth the price and there are better and cheaper options...
