Best Indian food we’ve had in a long time! So flavorful! And the spice level was totally appropriate. And we tried new breads - the Aloo Paratha and the Cheese and Chilli Kulcha - Wow!! Both of the curries we ordered were absolutely delicious! We regularly order Palak Paneer and this one was out of this world. Hands down the best food we’ve had in town. Highly recommend! Returned again the next night because the food was so good and the service was great. Pro-Tip: if you like sweet food order the Pashwari Naan. It’s lovely. We also had the Butter Prawn and the Mushroom Matar Malala. Both stellar! And the bread with the cottage sheets at the bottom of the breads list was also good - less spicy but a great accompaniment to all our dishes. This restaurant is incredible! Enjoy!

I was super exited to find this lovely Indian restaurant in Picton which had a lot of vegetarian options!!! The ambiance is quiet and the staff was very welcoming. I ordered a takeaway - Roti and Aloo curry. (Please specify not to put too much oil). The curry is served along with a portion of rice. You can specify what level of spice you want. The food was very tasty which I ate back at the YHA Villa hostel. I loved the food so much that I visited again the next day. I requested if the chef can make a mixed vegetable curry which was not in the menu and guess what, they prepared it! So thank you so much to the staff and the chef for accommodating my request. Please visit this place as the you will be reminded of home cooked food! :)

Good food though portion size not consistent with the rest of New Zealand, unfortunately, the price point is. The naan that I ordered was smaller/ almost similar size to a tandoori roti. Good thing was the spice level options available in the curries, shows that the place is frequented by both Indians and other nationals. Overall an average place if you are an Indian visiting on vacation, however, priceless for deprived Indian souls who live in the neighborhood. I chanced upon another Indian joint in Te Anau and they were very generous in their food portion size, so clearly it is just this place which is stingy with their serving size. The speed is fantastic though.

A gem within Picton!

Amazing flavours bursting out of the kitchen designed to tantalize the tastebuds and satisfy the soul.

The four of us shared a vegetable platter which was freshly prepared and tasty.

We shared a few dishes, two of which came from the curry of the month board; Goat Rogan Josh and the Murgh Nihari (holy cow I highly recommend these). Hands down the flavour, texture and heartiness of these dishes are designed to amaze!

The spot was bustling with people pouring in and out for dinner and take aways!

If you’re in Picton and want a satisfying, hearty, full bodied flavour-packed meal… do yourself a favour.

Bonus: $10.00 corkage on BYO.

Great team. Great...
