Decided to try Little Sicily after hearing some good word of mouth feedback. Wasnât disappointed. Sunday night wasnât packed but relatively full, and the ambience felt warm and welcoming. We were a table of six, mix of ages; 12 to 60. The starters were overall excellent. The Pecorino fries w truffle aioli was a hit all round. The pizza style garlic bread which wasnât dry as it often can be and was delicious eaten with the accompanying sauces (one a passata based sce and aioli) these disappeared quickly. We also tried the Kingfish Crudo (clean, subtle flavours), and the Venison Carpaccio (absolutely tender). Again, both were superb. We ordered a selection of mains. These included the Arancini, Lasagne, Pork Belly Meatball burger, Linguini, with universal acclaim around the table. A special; Roasted Duck Parpadelle was a triumph, with the crunchy garnish spread containing a subtle hit of sweetness beautifully offsetting the robust flavours of the Jus. The Chicken Parmigiana also pronounced excellent. If pushed, I would query the functionality of the Meatball sandwich. The size of the Ciabatta bun was large and it was a daunting experience to pick it up and eat with my hands, leading to the use of many serviettes (which could have been a larger size). Portions are generous and led to leftovers being enjoyed for lunch the next day. We shared a Tiramisu and Panna cotta for dessert. The Tiramisu was first rate, light and not too sweet (ânot cloyingâ was one comment). The Panna Cotta flavour was delicious, though the plate seemed a little large and shallow for the dish. The service throughout was friendly and attentive, could not be faulted. Prices are reasonable and in line with the market currently. I thought the music a little muffled but the atmosphere was an upbeat cheerful bustle and suited out occasion perfectly. Overall a great experience enjoyed by young and old....

We always drive past Little Sicily and finally decided to stop in for a late lunchâand wow, weâre so glad we did! The moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and told to sit wherever we liked. The place has this cozy, old-fashioned charm that makes you feel right at home.
I ordered a Sicilian Margarita that tasted like a smoothieâhonestly, I couldnât even tell if there was alcohol in it, but I wasnât complaining đ€Łđ. My husband kept it classic with a Sprite while we waited for our meals.
I went with the Linguini Pasta, and let me tell youâdivine! Cooked perfectly, with the right touch of chili to give it that comforting kick. My husband had the Lamb Ragu Pasta, which he absolutely devoured. It was full of flavour, and he couldnât stop raving about it. đ€€
We also shared a side of fries topped with a generous grating of pecorinoâcrispy, cheesy, and just the right amount of salty goodness in every crunchy bite. And to top it all off, we had a Margherita Pizza to shareâcheesy, hot, and packed with flavour.
Weâve officially found our new go-to pasta spot to bring friends and family. Such a lovely place with great food and vibes. Canât wait to come...
Read moreI loved, loved this spot when it was a pop up and expected that origin to translate into the restaurant. I really wanted to give it five stars because their food is amazing, but once you get in, you find out itâs actually the Trident (???), and just the kitchen is Little Sicily. The merger doesnât work at all, and Iâm not sure what the Trident thinks itâs achieving, as it only brings the place down and is an inappropriate brand for the food price point. Itâs not just the logo on the menu, itâs the bar setup, the tvs, the carpet, the pub music, the bar leaners. They havenât gone as far as putting pokies in the corner but it wouldnât look astray the way itâs set up right now. Such a weird decision. If you like atmosphere with your food, this place sadly has none. We were a little scared we were going to get Trident style drinks but thankfully the cocktails were Little Sicily good and the food was fabulous. Props to the LS team for getting their own spot and hopefully in future they get more say over the place to make it truly their own. Onehunga needs more Little Sicilys,...
