Curry Leaf Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

Presently surprised by this VERY small restaurant. Tables are fairly packed into the space... but not cramped I ordered the lamb madras, the bad it was not flavoured as I expected (I'm living in Australia and often order Madras from lots of places - where it is similarly flavoured, brown sauce mixed with coconut cream, this was yellow - more like a korma - with coconut cream, BUT I can except this as a regional difference (maybe between northern and southern India - this was advertised as southern) would like to have seen a few extra pieces of meat ... that's it for the bad ... minor and acceptable

The good - PERFECTLY cooked lamb, meat was still firm, but broke apart tenderly at the lightest touch PLENTY of sauce Rice was fluffy ... clearly not just sitting "on warm" Naan light and freshly cooked The restaurant was full, but meal came out in reasonable time. Restroom facilities were spotless. (A welcome change for small ethnic restaurants)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at curryleaf after its lunch, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was inviting, the food was delectable, and the service was top-notch.

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!! I struggled to swallow the food. Please try to hire people who know basic cooking. The masala on the chicken and prawn was still uncooked. It was the worst kebab ever. Can't even call it a kebab. I have tried many big and small Indian restaurants in Auckland. I would say this is the worst of all. A lot of cheap restaurants I know sell good quality and tasty food. This is expensive and poor quality food. I would never order from there again. Nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have no idea how people gave so many good reviews about this restaurant. I assume it is either the restaurant people or they are paying people to give good review. This food is going into the rubbish bin. I can't eat it. I can give the food back if you can give me a refund. What a waste...
