Food me-n-u café — Restaurant in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

Sorry but upon seeing your reply to my partner's review, I have decided to give you another 1 star. I wasn't going to write a review at all but you seem intent on making matters worse for yourself. Firstly, you owe him an apology for calling HIM a Karen. Did you notice he was writing the review and not me? Secondly, your attack on Google is highly unprofessional and now everyone can see you're publicly name calling your customers. Thirdly, you have grossly overreacted to the 2 sentences I spoke to you in the cafe and you've delivered a tirade in return. To jog your memory, I came up and said "We're still waiting for our food". You said "there are many tables". I said, "No, it's been long enough that my coffee's gone cold". Then I went back to my table. I saw 4 plates of food come out in half an hour before mine came out. It hardly looks busy at that speed of cooking. You can't pretend that your customers have not been to other cafes at peak hour before and continue to argue on our dissatisfaction rather than simply say "sorry about the wait" when the food came out and none of this would happen. I've worked in hospo before and we would practice good customer service and manners in order to keep our jobs. If you can't deal with the slightest irrate customer and take feedback then I suggest this is the wrong career/business for you.

Our experience in store started off good. The mocha was very good and we saw nice pancakes come out. I wasn't out to be picky about food, and I'd say the salmon poke was filling and tasted good however I've seen slightly more elaborate ones. But then the fact you denied customer service after the indian eggs came out and walked past ignoring my "excuse me's" showed you cannot face people but came online instead to get your revenge. I could've wanted to ask for a spoon or plate. You really made it worse for yourself.

Customers don't come here and make things up, however what benefit do you think there is to tell me that everyone was taking about my behaviour after I left? I don't give a damn. Google reviews are about reviewing the business, not...

Edit: I won't lower the overall rating despite the rude response from the owner but I would like to clarify some things at the end $21 for one poke bowl

Had heard great things about this cafe but was thoroughly disappointed considering the price. The portion was quite small and I was hungry pretty soon afterwards, there was very little edamame and cucumber and the rice was a little dry but also mushy

All the information for the poke bowl was outside the cafe with no menu or reference for it inside.

Overall not great and I would personally go elsewhere for a bigger portion for cheaper

Edit: When we asked if there was a limit on toppings we received a loud sigh and an eyeroll. 2 or 3 of the toppings we wanted were also unavailable that day. Obviously the assumption then is that there is a limit and that if you order more toppings you get less of each, and vice versa. When you refuse to answer basic questions from customers of course things are going to go wrong. Believe it or not customers can not actually read your mind and magically interpret menus that are not updated Being a small business means nothing to me if you are going to be actively rude to every mildly negative review you get. Other customers might have had great experiences with the customer service, value, and portion sizes, but ultimately I did not. Further edit: we asked and received no answers. DON'T rely on their opening hours on their website, a group of us met there for lunch after checking online that morning, and.....it was closed!!! Really bad, annoying and unnecessary! I previously discovered this little gem in the middle of Onehunga's main street. The food is really delicious as is the coffee, both my daughter and I were very impressed and will be back. Prices are also very reasonable. I had a French omelette, beautifully presented which was excellent, with generous filling and my daughter had the salmon poke bowl which she said was delicious and I will be having next time.
