Read more🔥 Slabs Pizza - Onehunga 🔥 Just had the thickest, freshest pizza straight out the oven at Slabs Pizza and I’m still thinking about it! The toppings were on point packed with flavour, not stingy, and somehow got the seal of approval from my super picky 10-year-old (he gave it a solid 10/10 which never happens). We dined in, and I have to say, the vibe was unexpectedly dope. The owner was really lovely and welcoming — you can feel that family vibe in the space, with his kids’ drawings on the wall and framed family photo (loved that personal touch). And the music?! As a hip hop head, I didn’t expect to be biting into cheesy, loaded goodness with Redman Tonight’s da Night bumping in the background. Like… pizza, fries, and great hiphop Say less!

Read moreI almost never write reviews, but I had to for this one ... it's that good. I drove all the way from Ponsonby to Onehunga for this, and it was worth every cent of petrol and time. I'm from the American midwest, so I know my Detroit style pizza well, and this is the best Detroit pizza you're gonna get outside of Michigan (and much better than you'll find in most of the US).
High quality ingredients and toppings, but the star is that perfectly risen and caramelized crust. chefs kiss The person helping me at the counter provided awesome service and clearly is passionate about his pizza. One slab is definitely enough to feed 4 normal people, and one slice was enough to keep me totally full til dinner. It's worth eating in if you can to keep the crispiness in that crust, but I ordered a whole slab and heating up leftovers in the waffle iron is the way to go.
