Good facility let down by dissociated staff. My partner and I took our daughter here as a reward for good behaviour, we were all in a good mood which appeared to bother a staff member named Sarah. We asked for a general swim for the 3 of us and a spa and sauna for my partner and I. We were overcharged by sarah despite scanning a leisure card. Our daughter was freezing after 20 minutes in the pool so we gave her a towel and allowed her to sit outside with her feet in the spa as this area was much warmer. Despite our daughter listening well and sitting outside of the spa (and signage saying under 8s should be supervised inside the spa) we were confronted by 2 staff in a very rude and argumentative manor, Sarah was clearly having a bad day and had too much responsibility on her hands as she decided to project her issues and attitude on the 3 of us. We politlely communicated in response and did what we were asked which didn't stop the staff members from being argumentative and confrontational toward the 3 of us so we decided to leave. A staff member named April proceeded to tell us our daughter was dehydrated in a snarky manor. Our daughter knows to communicate with us when she's thirsty so that was out of line. In their defence there was a death in the changing rooms in the past couple weeks, likely due to staff incompetence so good on them for trying to care I guess. Our experience here was incredibly unpleasant, a rip off and really disappointing for...

Came with my family and 6mo baby, usually it is a pleasant experience. Firstly the older lady in the reception was quite rude, also snappy to the young family in front of us. Apparently you need to purchase a mask (for $1) just to get through the gate, the staff are fine talking to you in the reception without it, no masks needed in the cafe OR the pool area but they tell you MUST have one to get through the gate and they won’t allow you to leave without it which is crazy as everyone is inside sharing bodily fluids inside the swimming pool. The family change rooms are filthy and not regularly checked this should be a higher priority. The baby pool was closed which is fine seems to be closed every time so think it must just be permanently closed, however the children's water play area was very cold - the deeper end was much warmer.

The cafe is really good, the coffee is really nice and the food was also good. Recently went to the Porirua pool which seems to be a lot more hygienic and looked after as well as having all pools and slides up and working. It is a shame, Kilbirnie used...

I’ve only been here once (just to be clear, as I can’t comment to what it’s like usually). Firstly, parking is minimal - be warned! The main pool was pretty big, there was a ‘medium’ sized pool for families which looked worryingly like a shrimp soup - heavy on the shrimp (ie, very full of people). Then there’s a toddler pool which is pretty big compared to most pools. There’s another room with three spa pools, and a sauna. It’s suffocating in there and if you’re mildly claustrophobic- don’t even try. The spa pools are tiny rectangles. I’m not sure what the maximum capacity is for them but anything more than three gets pretty intimate. It looks like a pool that’s probably great for locals, great for water sports (like water volley ball - if that’s a thing, they cut the big pool in half). But it really isn’t for the ‘out of towners.’ The minimum parking, it’s out toward the airport and if you’re in rush hour traffic it’s an absolute nightmare to move around. There is a cafe on sight. I didn’t use it so can’t comment...

My son and his cousins enjoyed their time here. It is definitely a great place for kids to have fun. However I was very disappointed and offended when I was approached by a life guard (on behalf of his supervisor) saying that I was not allowed to video record my son playing in the pool as it was causing issues for other parents. So they say, but yet there were many other parents with their phones out video recording their children. Why was I the only issue?? I must say that it felt very discriminating.

It has a few different pools for different functions, national games are usually held in the large pool including water polo, kayak polo and so on. They also offer swim classes for kids and adults. There's a sauna and spa too. The baby pool is separated from the toddler and kids pool. Ample carpark at the back with a smaller carpark at the front entrance. It is located right next to the library.

Lacks some features like wave pool or hydroslides but is very well patrolled, is really cheap so is great for taking your little ones there. Has 2 large pools for adults. Diving board etc and cafe. Not a bad place to spend a couple hours with the kids
