AJ Hackett Nevis Swing — Attraction in South Island

We did the swing and it was a very cool experience! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, from the receptionists and bus driver to the pair attaching us to the swing.

You get a great sense of freefall with the swing, without any risk of “stage fright” that you might get with a bungee jump if you haven’t done it before. So definitely a great entry point - we actually used this as a warm-up for our first time skydiving the next week!

What really surprised me was just how great the photos and video were. There’s multiple cameras at the top of the swing as well as one auto-tracking camera in the valley, which really captured the thrill of our freefall. Basically our video looked pretty much as good as the publicity material - probably the best production value across all the videos of the activities...

An insane experience and so much fun. Much easier to do than bungy jumping as the workers push the button for the swing. A 300m swing with a few seconds of free fall.

This swing is in a separate place to the bungy and takes about 30 minutes to get there, can take longer due to traffic.

To do a second swing, it’s only $50 NZD extra, i would recommend doing that if you enjoy it as it’s more expensive to do 2 separate swings.
