I moved from Whangarei to West Auckland 14 months ago. Early on, after my move, I signed up and became a paid member of the Playhouse Theatre as I enjoy live theatre and to meet new people. Some time after joining and receiving a membership card, as I was driving, I saw a large billboard advertising 12 Angry Jurors at Playhouse Theatre. I wondered why I hadn't received an email about this show. I bought 3 tickets online for this show and we all enjoyed it. I didn't get the opportunity to explain to the volunteers working at that time, and left it. Some months later, I went to a party at the Glen Eden RSA, popped into the Theatre as there was a show on. I spoke to a lovely lady, explained my situation and she recorded my name, email address and phone number and assured me someone will be in touch. I thanked her and asked what the current show is. She told me, Frozen. I said I have 5 young Granddaughters who would love to see Frozen and I'd like to buy tickets. She said the show finishes in a week and is fully booked out. Read moreEveryone is very friendly and helpful. The little bar/refreshment set up is nice. It's a smaller theatre, but it gives a cosy feel. The theatre represents local history from the 1930s, but it does look somewhat tired, and can do with bit of a make over. Regardless, the productions on offer are awesome!
