Normally a great park to spend time in, however, two huge issues are as follows. In summer there are many Karaka trees planted by the council that shed berries that are toxic and can kill dogs and small children. These need to be removed. Secondly in Winter the park is a quaggy mire due to overuse by rugby teams that take it over. They come from wide and far and completely dominate the fields every single weekend, ruining it for the locals, who I might add pay very high rates towards the upkeep of the park. The people who come to watch the rugby are often low lives who are rude, sometimes abusive and insist on littering the place. It completely...

This is a wonderful dog park with sports grounds adjoining and an excellent appointed playground for children. This, all set next to the water, close to shops and surrounding cafes and amenities. I give this park a 3/5 however as the dog-park part is riddled with Karaka Trees. Of which, Karaka berries are HIGHLY toxic to dogs who ingest them. Some dogs actually perish from eating these.

I'd like to see the council get rid of the Karaka trees as well as the privet and kapok trees which are both exotic and extremely bad for anyone who suffers...

Children's playe ground need extra safety of atleast 20ft high ( may be a big net to cover the area so cricket bowl dont land in park. In cricket season, bowl flies down to children park when someone hits boutry or six. It is dangerous for very young kids.

One star deducted just for above reason. Otherwise ground is awesome and well maintained. Must visit for sports, play ground, good walk...

Felt like a small piece of a far away green countryside nestled amongst the city suburbs. Beautiful views of the sunset, great flat walking grounds. Appears quite a few people jog the track. Some really interesting walks through bush, around the park and hobbit like land. We even passed a paddock with a pony!. Great place, plan to return again soon., 👍✨

Coxs Bay Reserve is a large and popular reserve with sports fields which are busy with booked sports for rugby and cricket. It covers approximately 14 hectares and has a creek area with native vegetation, mangroves and an environmental trail. Perimeter tracks provide good walking circuits around the sports fields and through areas of bush.

Fairly a big park with a large playground in and around Ponsonby, Grey Lynn area. Long walks to Cox's bay, dogs on and off leash areas, board walks, green fields and picnic tables are plus points. However, the strong stench coming out from the nearby mangrove at some places of this park is not so pleasant, particularly in the summer :(
