I have a strong feeling this place is going to grow very quickly very soon. We were greeted by a lovely lady and was seated comfortably on a 4seat table when we were only two people. We brought our own wine $7 for BYO. The waitress brought out some complimentary prawn chips. They were cooked nicely. Not stale at all. The water they gave us in a jug was chilled which was nice for the hot weather. We got our appetiser “Sesame prawns”; YOU MUST GET THIS!!! (I will return for this.) the prawns are big and cooked to perfection. They give you enough sauce to put on the prawns as well.
We ordered the pad thai with roast duck 🦆 & green curry with chicken 🐓
The pad thai was well seasoned. It had a decent amount of duck which I liked. It was very tender and cooked well. Compliments to the chef👍. They offered chilli on the side which I loved. We could control the spice level. The peanuts were properly toasted😋
Green curry was really good too. They gave you a good amount of chicken and the veges were fresh. It had bamboo shoots, cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, peas, courgette, capsicum. It was a very home made flavour which I like. Not too sweet. (Not like some of these other fast food places do it overly sweet). To me this dish probably sets this place as a “restaurant”.
Other than the food being good, the portion sizes were excellent, the price was decent, service was amazing and their attention to detail was not un-noticed.
The only minus I saw was that I would have got the som tum if they used papaya but the menu said carrots and they do charge for takeaway box (like most other places now a days) which was a shame. You get penalised for ordering more food and wanting to take it home.
The owner came around each table and greeted everyone which was lovely. I loved their elephants on the wall and the great art pieces. We went around 8-9pm and it got busier at 9pm.
Thank you to the two ladies that served us. Our main waitress came and spoke to us with a smile, asked how the food was and I think staff like this make a big difference to...
Read moreWe were very impressed, delighted, by this restaurant. The food was delicious, with that magical balance of flavours and subtle sweetness characteristic of good Thai food (at least from our experience.) From the broad menu we chose vegetarian green Thai curry and chicken red Thai curry. They were delicately cooked and presented as generous servings in white teardrop-shaped deep bowls. Perfect, memorable. It's quite something when the aura of a dining experience lingers, delightfully and palpably, for the duration of your journey home - especially when the restaurant is your local. This is a new restaurant with new owners, just opened on the site of a previous Thai restaurant. Its decor is uncluttered, culturally evocative, and warmly inviting. Cheers to the elephants. The room was comfortably accommodating without any feeling of compression, giving the sense of relaxed and homely fine-dining - a rare experience. Service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. All-in-all a great dining experience, a great find, and a signicant contribution to our...
Read moreWe went on a public holiday as our usual Thai restaurant was closed; we live close by but have never tried, and finally decided to this time as we craved some green curry. The staff were looking a bit stressed - I could see they had a lot of orders coming through, there were a lot of people already waiting for takeaway orders. But they took our order nicely and promised it'd be ready in 10 minutes, which it was. The green curry was absolutely delicious. We ordered it with chicken and it was generous with both protein and vegetables. The sauce was so creamy and spicy. Sad that it took us so long to try this place because it is making amazing Thai food. It is so reasonably priced and the way everything was running smoothly, despite the air of stress, makes me believe the team are genuinely good at what they do, and care about their customer service. Will...
