Worst part of our experience in Bergen. We thought we would enjoy a nice 4 hr cruise from Vik to Bergen and paid a fair sum to get by taxi from Bergen to Vik. The drive was amazing and I would highly recommend it. The boat ride however was a major let down. The boat was over crowded and had no assigned seating; furthermore, many folks had plonked bags or other personal items on the seats next to them claiming the seats even if there was nobody coming to sit on them. So it was a major challenge to find empty seats. Even after we had found seats towards the interior of the boat, we had to look through awful dirty windows through which we could barely see anything. Standing room outside is super limited so even finding a good spot to stand can be a challenge. All in all it did not feel the least bit like a cruise on a beautiful fjord- it felt like a underground subway...

We took this ferry all the way to Flam to get the best views of the fjords all across Norway. I think our boat ride was 6 hours long with roughly 4-5 stops along the way. It was an incredible experience being our first time in Norway. The boat has two floors of interior seating with good window views. They also had a deck outside with some benches so you could enjoy the views. Bring a nice jacket and beanie or you'll freeze. The boat goes really fast. The turquoise color of the glacier water is stunning. We saw dolphins and a family of seals along the way. The captain slowed down around a gorgeous waterfall and did a 360 degree turn to let us enjoy it. The onboard cafe was decent and it wasn't overly crowded. Would...

Had a very nice daytrip, 12 hours on the Sognefjord, but it was worth it. We went to Flåm, in the end of the Fjord, the most beautifull part. The trip and stunning views were perfect, but the 2 toilets for 290 people: horrible, not cleaned. The boat goes very fast and outside, on the deck, theres a lot of wind. Seats (inside) are very good, with big windows at 2 sides, but there are also seats in the middle with no/bad view on the fjords. You're better early for boarding so you can choose were to sit if you want to see the beauty of the...

Ferry was timely and comfortable. They should have a sign and explanation of when to get off from the front and when to get off on the back. You will exit the back for the larger stops—Ballestrand and Flåm. Seats are comfortable and I bought my ticket the day prior at the end of May (I would suggest buying earlier just in case). The first floor has better forward facing views than the second, but the second has a bigger view from the back to go outside. The staff was relatively patient with visitors wanting pictures from the front of the boat.
