Read moreThe Valberg tower (Valbergtårnet) was built from 1850 to 1853 and was the former observation tower of Stavanger. The tower was the home of the local watchmen. Their main duty was to alert the people when there was a fire in town.
The tower was in service until the year 1922.
Today Valbergtårnet has a little watchmen's museum on the first floor which is interesting for schoolclasses and other people that are interested.
