A plaza dedicated to Rajah Humabon (also called Sri Hamabar), the king of Cebu during the first arrival of the Spaniards. The plaza is located at Mabini Street, in front of Cebu Archdiocesan Museum. The plaza features a life-size statue of Rajah Humabon sitting on his “throne”, observing the surrounding area. The Rajah is portrayed with tattoos spread around his body, a common practice during pre-hispanic times symbolizing might, courage, and honor. Best place to visit is during the afternoon, when it is not too hot to roam around the place. There's really not much to do here but to sit and relax, chat with friends, and take a picture of the monument for your souvenir.

During Ferdinand Magellan's arrival in 1521, Rajah Humabon held the title of Cebu's King. The Magellan-Elcano fleet's arrival on Cebu's shores on April 7, 1521, and the hospitable reception from Rajah Humabon marked the introduction of Christianity to the island. This spot is situated across from the Cebu Archdiocesan Museum. Access to it is free of charge.

This memorial square is dedicated to Rajah Humabon, former chieftain of Sugbo (Cebu) who allowed Magellan to plant the cross where it stands today. He was baptized as “Carlos” and led the battle against the Spanish Conquistadores on May 1, 1521.

Rajah Humabon Monument, it was a very very old parkland during the Spanish era. They built a "stone monument" at the back of the Humabon statue. Later, they wanted the park to display Rajah Humabon.

Its one minor attraction site of Cebu City BUT its fine to check in and take some photos along the way. Sometimes, they closed off the gates and SOMETIMES, I see street people running around the park, watching a guitar show, and throwing little fireworks...
