Star City Experience: A Fun Yet Flawed Family Outing

I recently visited Star City with my entire family, primarily to let my 6-year-old and 4-year-old daughters enjoy the attractions. While the Titas had their share of fun with the thrill rides, my children particularly loved the Dinosaur World and got to experience three age-appropriate rides.

However, despite paying around ₱950+ for the “all-rides” package—including Snow World—the experience felt underwhelming for kids below 7 years old. The selection of safe and age-appropriate rides was very limited, and although there were other attractions available, they required additional payment in the form of coin-operated machines. This feels like a rip-off, considering we had already paid for unlimited rides.

Snow World: A Large Freezer with Hidden Costs

Snow World was a nice addition, but it essentially felt like stepping into a huge freezer. The cold protection provided was insufficient—only an old, worn-out jacket with a weak Velcro closure. Most jackets wouldn’t stay closed properly, leaving us exposed to the cold. Additionally, ear muffs and gloves had to be purchased separately, when these should have been included in the package. A face mask should also be part of the gear since inhaling freezing air can easily cause colds, especially for young children.

Overall Verdict

Despite these drawbacks, we still had a great time as a family. The atmosphere was fun, and the kids enjoyed the few rides they could take. However, Star City could improve its value-for-money experience, especially for younger children, by ensuring that all rides under the “all-rides” pass are truly accessible and by providing better cold gear in Snow World without additional charges.
