The Zachęta National Gallery of Art is a contemporary art museum in the center of Warsaw, Poland. The Gallery's chief purpose is to present and support Polish contemporary art and artists. With numerous temporary exhibitions of well-known foreign artists, the gallery has also established itself internationally. The word "zachęta" means encouragement. The Zachęta Gallery was founded in Warsaw in 1860. “ALIENATIONS OR THE FIRE NEXT TIME” was the name of the exhibition when I visited Zacheta. Such an amazing experience. series of videos and video installation. The first gallery was 3 big very impressive video which was carefully and precisely synchronized. The other exhibition on the first floor was about Urbanski's works. Kazimierz Urbański is a director of animated films and documentaries, set designer, screenwriter, animator, performer, and prominent teacher. He was born on 26th March 1929 in Święciechowa, near Leszno (Wielkopolska), and died on 18th January 2015. I know that the exhibitions will be different every few months but I want to mention these exhibitions because you can have an idea about what kind of fine art you are going to see in this museum. Read moreSeriously love this art gallery of modern art. Truly amazing exhibitions! ❤️ Always makes a wonderful impression on me, every time I am seeing different and unusual things and art works, that somehow influence my attitude towards this world. I visit nearly every exhibition, because it’s worth it. The halls are very big and very high ceilings, so you have a lot of space to think and to walk while enjoying your time. All the descriptions are in English language, so tourists are more than welcomed. There can be found a small book shop, where you can buy books of art and other staff. There is also a bathroom that is clean. You must take pictures while entering the main hall full of mirrors, really fun. In general the building is very gorgeous if I can say like that, white and very beautiful. And believe me you never know what to expect from this gallery, modern art is full of surprises for your mind. ❤️🔥...
Read moreWow! I’m so happy I came here today. Zachęta – National Gallery of Art is one of those places where you really feel the pulse of contemporary art in Poland. Walking through the halls, I stumbled into two completely different worlds.
The first was Joanna Fluder’s Śluz / Slime. Her work felt intense, almost like it pushed right into me. It wasn’t just something to look at — it was something to feel, a force in itself.
Then I moved on to Teresa Kelm’s piece, Zygmunt Krauze, Spatial-Musical Composition No. 2, 1970/2025. This one was the opposite — calmer, more about ideas, colors, and how sound and space can wrap around you. It felt like stepping into a living composition.
For me, that’s the beauty of visiting a place like Zachęta: one moment you’re challenged, the next you’re gently carried along. Both experiences left me with something new — and that’s exactly why I love...
