This Museum is excellent as a record of the findings around the Wroclaw district. Contrary to the digging process, the older Stone Age findings are at the top of the building. You then drop down the floors to the later ages. The only difficulty for non-Polish speakers is that the laminated foreign guides on each floor are limited. They show a floor plan and name the items in the display cases. However, 4/5G is available, so Google Translate was possible but somewhat tedious. There were plenty of artefacts, and well displayed. It's probably not a place for impatient children, but it's great for getting an overview of the region's rich history. It definitely illustrates the fascinating origins of European populations transiting through this central area of the land mass. Not on the edge like Britain. Don't forget to visit the Arms Museum before or after, as the price is inclusive and in the same grand building, which is...
Read moreI've published seperate review for the military museum which is in the same building. This place holds a really nice collection of items found in Silesia and has a medieval section on the ground floor, with artifacts from the Stone/Bronze and Iron ages on the 1st and 2nd floors. I particularly loved the stone age tools, like the flint shards used for cutting. To think human hands held these tools 4000 years ago is something special. This place would be 5 stars if there was more English explanation. There is a small guide on each floor in English but generally just gives a list of the items without much context or explanation. Almost no one there...
