The Library collection includes publications on the history of architecture and art, related to the Polish and regional architecture, exhibition catalogues, all the publications of the Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw, as well as all the issues of magazines on architecture, including such titles as “ARCHITEKTURA-Murator”, “Architektura & Biznes” or “ARCH”

FUTURE ARCHITECTURE PLATFORM Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw is the only polish partner of the international projectFuture Architecture Platform. It is a pan-European network of architecture museums, festivals and non-institutional cultural producers that promote the work of emerging architects, curators and researchers in architecture with the aim to bring the most burning issues of contemporary architecture to a wider audience. The objectives of the platform are: to connect the different architectural institutions, producers and communicators in a collaborative, trans-national, multidisciplinary platform for the exchange of new knowledge in architecture and to develop their collaborative and research capacities;

to encourage the production of new, alternative content for the visitors of the architecture museums and for architecture festivals’ audience;

to encourage circulation of emerging architects, researchers, curators, writers between museums, galleries and festivals throughout Europe;

to push forward new research and new, original presentations of the possible future models for cities and architecture;

to inform wider public and create awareness about current challenges in architecture;

to create an international fund of ideas about the future of architecture.

I was in two minds about visiting, but I am really glad I did. Not only did we turn up on the day when it was free, it was also super-interesting. The permanent collection is really I suspect a catalogue of bits and pieces that were left over from the rubble when the city was being rebuilt. So there will be, for example, a cabinet of door handles, or stained glass, or heating stoves showing the different styles between the middle ages and about art deco. Muzeum Architektury we Wrocławiu mieści się przy ul. Bernardyńskiej 5. Siedzibą muzeum jest dawny klasztor i kościół Bernardynów . Jest to jedna z najcenniejszych budowli średniowiecznych Wrocławia . W sąsiedztwie znajdziemy Panoramę Racławicką i Muzeum Narodowe . Na przeciw mamy galerię dominikańska jedną z pierwszych galerii handlowych we Wrocławiu. Muzeum Architektury to jedyne w Polsce muzeum całkowicie poświęcone architekturze. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje klasztorny wirydarz,który przyciąga uwagę swoim średniowiecznym ,oryginalnym wykonaniem . Piękne łuki i sklepienia naprawdę przenoszą w inny wymiar . Wyeksponowano tu ciekawe elementy architektury okien , drzwi ,portale oraz witraże . Znajdziemy tu fantastyczne dawne piece kaflowe oraz kominki z bogatych rodzin szlacheckich i mieszczańskich z Dolnego Śląska . Sam spacer tymi korytarzami sprawia że możemy choć przez chwilę poczuć się jak Bracia Benedyktyni , którzy parę wieków wcześniej snuli się po tych korytarzach . Goszczą tu również wystawy czasowe poświęcone szeroko rozumianej architekturze i jej otoczeniu. Na wystawy stałe wstęp bezpłatny przez cały tydzień. Dzisiaj to rzadkość. Tym bardziej czapki z głów. Muzeum mieści się w samym sercu starego miasta więc z każdego miejsca np Rynku czy Ostrowa Tumskiego jest tu blisko. Z praktycznych rad - parking na ulicy Benedyktyńskiej lub w Galerii Dominikańskiej oraz przy muzeum Poczty i Telekomunikacji . Wszystkie parkingi płatne . Parking bezpłatny w weekendy można znaleźć przy Urzędzie Wojewódzkim po drugiej stronie Parku Słowackiego . Bezpłatne parkowanie po 18 w tygodniu i cały dzień w soboty...
