Unfortunately, we left the museum disappointed. We wanted to go inside, but we encountered an obstacle when trying to purchase tickets. They did not accept credit cards, so we could only pay with cash. The ticket for two people cost 10 euros, which I tried to pay with a 100 euro banknote. However, the cashier refused our 100 euro banknote without explanation, so we couldn't buy tickets. It's incomprehensible to us why 90 euros in change would be a problem for a museum. We did check out the garden, which was free, but unfortunately, that was also a disappointment. None of the numerous fountains and pools contained water, which significantly detracted from the overall appearance and atmosphere. Overall, our visit to the museum was an unpleasant experience. We hope others will have a more pleasant one!

The eclectic home of the Irishman Jorge O'Neill, inaugurated in 1900, overlooks the bay of Santa Marta in Cascais and offers a fascinating mix of styles. Furnishings, paintings and porcelain are displayed in the richly decorated rooms. Established as a museum almost a hundred years ago, the villa also has an ancient small chapel, with typical azulejos, and a beautiful park, used daily by children and adults, with play and relaxation areas. The park also has a pond and is populated by roosters, ducks and a beautiful peacock.

I got lucky to visit this museum on first Sunday of a month what made my ticket cost 0€. It was spontaneous decision to stop by but I loved it. Museum is in very good condition plus the area around is really beautiful. Nice experience for single visit. Nothing special what you cannot see in other museums of Lisbon and the district but for free I was more than glad to explore it. Location is good as well - the park around is probably one of the best in Cascais

...” in #historiasdahistoriadecascais

...” in...
