Dining at YAM in Cascais is an experience that beautifully blends exceptional cuisine, stunning views, and impeccable service. Nestled along the marina, the restaurant offers a breathtaking panorama of the boats gently swaying against the backdrop of the Atlantic. The view alone sets the stage for an unforgettable evening, but it’s the combination of the ambiance, food, and service that truly elevates the experience.
The restaurant exudes a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The interior is modern with an elegant Asian-inspired design that complements the tranquil marina setting. Soft lighting, comfortable seating, and a serene color palette create an inviting environment, perfect for both intimate dinners and lively gatherings.
The menu at YAM is a journey through Asian culinary delights. Each dish is crafted with precision, showcasing the freshest ingredients and vibrant flavors. From delicate sushi rolls to bold, flavorful curries, every bite reflects a deep respect for Asian traditions while offering a contemporary twist. The beverage menu is equally impressive, with an extensive selection of wines, sake, and cocktails that perfectly complement the food.
But what truly made our visit exceptional was the outstanding service provided by Angelo. From the moment we were seated, Angelo’s warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail were apparent. He guided us through the menu with expert recommendations, ensuring our selections suited our tastes. His knowledge of the dishes and beverages was impressive, and his genuine enthusiasm for the food and wine enhanced our dining experience. Ângelo’s ability to anticipate our needs without being intrusive was a testament to his skill and dedication.
Overall, YAM offers a perfect combination of exquisite food, a stunning marina view, and a welcoming ambiance. The service, especially from Angelo, is simply top-notch. Whether you're a local or just visiting Cascais, YAM is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a remarkable...
Read moreI went to the restaurant for a birthday event. I was skeptic about the food becauseI didn’t know what to expect but I was really surprised with how good it tasted. We tried several dishes and there is nothing bad to point regarding any of them. The white wine was good too
The bad experience was with one of the waiters - we could tell he was the head of waiters - he was very stiff most of the time.
The last dish had been served and we hadn’t finished yet. He came to our table asking if he could take the food to what my friend said no because he wanted to finish. The waiter rudely answered that they wanted to serve dessert and my friend answered “I can skip dessert, no problem”. The waiter answered “Yeah but the others want dessert”. My friend just meant that they could start serving the dessert, there was no need to wait for him to finish the dish
The second bad experience with the same waiter happened after the birthday cake. I ordered a sparkling water at the bar to go with the cake. I didn’t know if I had to pay or not - drinks were included with the dinner - but the bartender didn’t ask for payment. So I thought I didn’t have to pay. Less than a minute later I had that same waiter approaching me in an upsetting and intimidating way asking me something. The music was loud and at first I couldn’t hear what he was asking so I kept saying that I couldn’t hear him and while trying to understand what he was saying, he was checking the price table on his phone. After I understood what he had said, I clarified that I ordered a sparkling water and he charged me. Now, the point here is not paying for the water, that was perfectly fine. The point was his behaviour
PS: the bartender was really kind and nice, he just didn’t know he had...
Read moreUnacceptable Hygiene Violations – Public Warning
I’ve witnessed two separate and deeply concerning hygiene violations at this restaurant that raise serious health and safety red flags. On one occasion, I personally observed a staff member using the public bathroom sink to wash his feet in the middle of the day during a break. Minutes later, he returned to work and resumed serving food to customers, without any visible sanitation. On another visit, I saw a kitchen chef spend an extended time in the restroom. After finishing, he did not wash his hands and went directly back into the kitchen to prepare food.
Both incidents show a clear disregard for basic sanitary standards. Regardless of anyone’s background, these practices are entirely unacceptable in any professional restaurant setting.
I strongly urge management to enforce strict hygiene protocols and retrain staff on food safety. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who values...
