Mercearia vencedora — Restaurant in Cascais

The service was ok but in the beginning we've been misleaded by a waitress that almost all burgers are with buns (it appeared that only two of them were). We ate burgers - to be honest, their quality was comparable to low class fast food: The meat was ok (nothing special but it was eatable), bun in one of burgers looked like taken straight from market 4-pack (I have nothing against such buns - of course for restaurant it's better to have something with higher quality - but at least it should be roasted on the pan), ketchup/mayo (?) sauce was not tasty. Also, fries added to burgers were, i believe, from market freezer. To sum up, if I ate such meal on the train station and for half price, I would be satisfied. This restaurant looks great, but sadly the food and service didn’t match. One dish arrived wrapped in tin foil and wasn’t as described, while the fries tasted of old oil and were inedible. The rest of the food was passable, but nothing special.

When we complained, staff were defensive and the manager initially claimed not to speak English — until a subordinate reminded her she could! She said we could have ordered something else, but by this time we had to leave. She then refused to adjust the bill and even called the police when we declined to pay in full. In the end, the police clearly had better things to do; she returned alone and finally offered a small reduction.

Food okay, staff friendly to customers but they run!!! LITERALLY!!!!! They RUN!!!! From the outside area to the inside of the restaurant to the kitchen... THEY RUN!!!

As for the Manager.... Well... That "Gentleman" Should first start but learning how to correctly answer and speak on the phone for that's the first contact with the customer.... The arrogance and rudeness... And in person,the way he speaks to the staff!!! To his colleagues its just.... Pfff.... Revolting!!!!
