Pizzaria Gordinni Marina Cascais — Restaurant in Cascais

We had late dinner there yesterday and were all terribly disappointed.

There were three of us - one person ordered a margherita pizza, two of us ordered the same set of ameijoas and a Filet mignon a marques. Firstly - the staff were constantly struggling to push out the food as soon as possible - hence we got our ameijoas first but had to wait additional 5 minutes for the bread. The ameijoas were also lukewarm when served and, in our opinion, most likely the mussels were frozen and not fresh. As per the pizza - it was just a joke. Looked and tasted like cardboard with a little tomato sauce. The steaks - they were well seasoned and the meat was of decent quality but the upsides end there. Firstly, we asked for them to be medium rare - they came rare and my girlfriend's steak was even bleu in part. Second of, they were both cold in the middle - we are pretty sure that it was because the meat had not rested and was taken from the fridge straight before being cooked (we saw a waiter carrying a piece of meat shortly before we were served our dishes). Lastly, the servers here messed up really badly and we got our steaks over 5 minutes before getting the sides (chips and spinach).

We also paid a total of over 160 euros for the food listed above, 3 beers, glass of wine and a bottle of water....

I really wanted to give a better rating but unfortunately my experience was not really great. We ordered two pizzas and a mushroom risotto. The good: the service is quite good, above average. From the moment we were received by the host to the table service by the waiters, you can see they really want to make you feel welcome and they are quick to notice when you need something. A+ to the waiter who was a true gem. The pizzas were nice, super thin dough and fresh toppings, not amazing but definitely a good choice if you want something quick. The bad: The risotto was overcooked and super salty. The presentation was quite bad, it looked like someone had thrown a scoop of porridge over the plate. The ugly: the restaurant has a nice decoration and is quite modern, but the ATM machine by the entry door and the TVs on the top of the wall opposite the bar make you feel like you are in a decrepit bar in a dark alley, not in a restaurant by the marina. The annoying green light flashing from the ATM machine caught my eye and really annoyed me during the time I was there.

All in all, I'm not sure I'd go back. The experience was positive but there's room for...
