Steeped in the heart of one of Porto's most enchanting historical neighborhoods, Casa Aberta Open Bar & Food House beckons you to a culinary adventure. The restaurant exudes an intimate, cozy atmosphere complemented by a genuinely welcoming staff and a delightful array of daily menus, including drinks – all at a surprisingly affordable price. It is a sanctuary of comfort food, professional service, and a charming ambiance. Despite the allure it holds for tourists, you'll find it predominantly frequented by locals, further authenticating your Porto dining experience. Upon entering Casa Aberta, we were immediately swept into its warm embrace by the affable staff. Their rotating menu, teeming with a refreshing variety of drinks and remarkably priced, kept the anticipation alive. The appetizers, though unpretentious, set the tone for a memorable gastronomic journey. We savored the warmth of crisp bread paired with aromatic basil butter and zingy pepper hummus that teased our palates. Choosing to tread lightly on our mains, we shared a bresaola salad that danced with freshness and a hearty portion of bacalhau. Each mouthful spoke volumes of careful preparation and a dedication to tasting. The attentive service was like the fine-tuning of an orchestra, and the wine – the maestro’s baton, striking all the right notes. We departed with the satisfaction of a splendid meal, our hearts and bellies full. Casa Aberta Open Bar & Food House is not just a meal but a journey through a loving home's comforting arms. We wholeheartedly endorse it as a gem, where the tantalizing cuisine, impeccable service, and inviting atmosphere harmoniously blend. For those pursuing a genuine, pocket-friendly Porto dining experience, Casa Aberta Open Bar & Food House is a must-visit culinary...
Read moreWhat a gem! Ambiance and decor very inviting, not cluttered, tastefully designed. Lighting was good. Initial greeting was not so warm but our server for the night, Patricia was warm, friendly, made amazing recommendations, was very knowledgeable about the menu and followed up on the meal, but was in no way intrusive. Ordered a veal tartar to start and then cod and veal ribs. The flavors of everything were individual, specifically and tasty. The grilled peppers with the veal ribs are now my favorite. Very good food, great service and would easily recommend. Reservations are preferable on Friday and Saturday as it fills up quickly. One of the top three meals...
