Casa de Pasto da Palmeira — Restaurant in Porto

We really enjoyed every single dish we tried here - different vegetarian starters and desserts (goat cheese ecclairs, tempura pimento peppers, salad with raspberries, apple crumble + cinnamon ice-cream, chocolate mousse + salted ice-cream) - the flavours were special and unique, often a wonderful mix of salty and sweet, a pleasure for taste buds. :) Not the cheapest in Porto, but definitely worth it. Location is beautiful, too - overseeing a river with boats, old tram passing by. There is a lovely Riverside promenade with palm trees nearby, and a nice park...

Beware what you order and ask the price before you do. Yesterday I went here, ordered a wine. It was nice and I paid 2.50 euro. The owner (I presume) was very nice. Today I stopped by, different waiter. I asked for a wine, he asked which wine and I asked for the house wine. He told me they don't have a house wine and offered me to choose a wine for me. The wine was nice but not nicer than the 2.50 wine the day before. I paid 5.50 euro for that not so good wine, the most I paid in the last 5 weeks. So so so bad. I would have gone back but this...

We came across this local restaurant as we were searching for a place to eat tapas and we didn't feel like heading back to Porto. Best choice ever, Friendly and helpful people, really good dishes and priced really good for the amazing quality. The food was so good, we forgot to take pictures. During the time we sat there to eat, multiple locals came by, but were refused in the most polite and respectful way. This place is so popular, it has only a few empty chairs at a time during our time there.
