PORTIE - DELUXE SUITES — Restaurant in Porto

We ate the most scrumptious dinner, savoring every bite! The bread with olive oil & butter, potatoes, carrots, squid, and nectarines were served as courses giving enough time between each to ready your pallet for the next flavor experience. Chef Rodrigo Cardoso and su chef Milene know just how to combine the flavors and give just the right amount of decadence for each dish. We wished we had room to share more dishes…maybe another night. Their seasonal menu is spot on and the decor, service and atmosphere heightened the evening. Plus don’t miss the hand painted wall on the way to the toilet (across from the kitchen) by Hugo Oliveira - it took him a year to create it all and it is a treasure with delightful birds throughout the flora and fauna. PS: they only opened 2 days ago and are already knocking it out...

Nice location where the river meets the sea and a very handy tram stop right outside. The room was huge with a lovely private balcony. Nicely decorated with a comfy sofa and large TV. The only criticism was a lack of fridge. They are described as luxury suites so you really would expect one and there was ample room. They provided a coffee machine with pods but no milk pods and with the lack of fridge, no opportunity to have your own supply. Also, there was an integrated blue tooth speaker system and a smart TV that you should have been able to cast to but no instructions on how to use them. The staff were polite and friendly but they didn’t appear to know anything about how they worked. Just a few extra touches like fridge and instruction manual would make...

Very nice place with good vibe and decent food, however playing cheap. The bartender was very nice asking us about the cocktails we order and offered to do something out of the ordinary to check if we could guess a secret ingredient. We were quite surprised to see that cocktail in our bill as usually such offers are on the house. Not that we cannot pay 9 eur, we would have left it anyway in tips in a different situation. However the way the restaurant tried to extent this additional value from a bill which was already above Porto average was really upsetting. I’m mot coming back and not recommending this...
