On the ground floor you can find books in various translations or the original. Beautiful gift editions are also located on the first floor, somewhere deep in the middle of the hall.They are mainly about fashion and pop art.There are also lots of gift material for scrapbooking and journaling. The right side of the Gribojedov Chanal is littered with stands with colorful postcards. On the Second Floor there are more serious editions. You can even find the rarities. В середине ноября ездила в Питер в командировку. Решила совместить приятное с полезным и в поисках сувенира для семьи заглянула в хваленый Дом книги. Сказать, что это было полное разочарование, – не сказать ничего. Первое, что бросилось в глаза, – непрофессионализм персонала. Я искала хоть какую-нибудь книгу Петра Дмитриевича Боборыкина. Девушка-продавец сделала круглые глаза, каменное лицо и заявила, что ничего не знает о таком авторе. В ответ на мои настойчивые просьбы посмотреть в каталоге, она со второй или третьей попытки нехотя заглянула в базу и сказала, что такого они не держат. Порекомендовать что-то другое она тоже не соизволила. Мне пришлось прошерстить очень много полок, пока я смогла подобрать хоть что-то из того, чего еще нет в нашей семейной библиотеке. Но самое забавное было впереди. На выходе из магазина нас с подругой поджидал тощий, нескладный субъект с кривыми ногами, который изъявил желание изучить наши покупки и чек. Этот одаренный на полном серьезе обмусолил своими грязными пальцами купленную мною книгу, обнюхал коробку с сувениром для ребенка, не обнаружил криминала и нехотя извинился. Видимо, молодая девушка-врач и не очень молодая дама-журналист производят впечатление тех, кто обычно расхищает грошовые книги в магазинах. Подведу итоги. Плюсы магазина: расположение, большой выбор стандартных, банальных изданий, хороший выбор открыточек. Это место для тех, кто приехал в северную столицу из КФХ «Путь Ильича» и хочет привезти домой в качестве сувенира мягкую игрушку, красивенькую открытку с видами Питера или иллюстрированное издание «Острова сокровищ» (дома-то такой роскоши нет, наверно). Подойдет оно и тем, кто ходит в книжные, чтобы пофотографироваться с умным видом на фоне Казанского собора. Минусы: абсолютно немотивированный и недружелюбный персонал. Если вы ищете какого-то хоть чуть-чуть необычного автора, если вы действительно любите книги и если у вас дома уже есть коллекция открыток и 100500-тая вам не нужна, то это место не для вас.
