Stolovaya № 1 — Restaurant in Palace District

Absolutely disastrous. Cramped and hot, queue extending far beyond the reaches of my sight, blinded by the hundreds of dim lights burning out hopelessly in this tomb. The soup was completely empty in all ways, lacking its potatoes and feeling miserably uninspired, it left me with a lingering sense of its sorrow. For what is a soup, if not the wonderful second life of water, filled with purpose and potassisum? The kebab was cold and raw, and every bite I took just made it colder. I looked at its laughable size and nothing but pity came to my mind. With the catastrophically low amounts of ketchup, it was impossible to hide the soulless husk of what this meat once was. I felt bad I couldn't bring it back to the beaty and freedom that is the chaos of raw meat it once was, even though it didn't go too far from its origins. I didn't even bother trying the beef steak. But yet, even in the darkest deepest dungeon of despair, shining with hope always is a salvation. The tomato juice stood gracefully in the middle of the table, its silenct superiority ringing louder than the victims of so-called "culinary" grasping for their lives in the bathroom. I took a sip with my expectations about as low as it gets, just to feel a wonderful sensation. It tasted like tomatoes. Its size may not be intimidating, and its contents may not be an epic tale that is culinary at its highs, but it lived up to the expectations. I looked back at the glass. It was reflecting the rising sun. Suddenly I felt free, as if I wasn't poisoned by their soup just a minute earlier. This proves once more that not all heroes need multiple ingredients and a bold concept, sometimes a real treasure is the artistic simplicity and concepts far from perfection. I did throw up later though. 1 star, with a glimpse of a white dwarf that is the tomato juice, burning just not bright enough...

Payments are cash only. Not wheelchair accessible. The food here is canteen. There is no table service here and you ask for food while in line to pay. Stuff isn't very polite as it happens in canteens here, I don't know if they speak English. Quality of the food is average. Some desserts are good, but Napoleon dessert was unfortunately disgusting plain whipped cream. I wouldn't recommend coffee Latte here, don't know if other coffees are OK. Interior is great, vintage to some distinct. There are three unisex restrooms. I recommend it for quick visit and if you don't mind...

Постоянно пользуюсь услугами этой столовой. На первом месте из плюсов, безусловно, весьма экономный ценник на блюда, немного выше среднего уровень качества самих блюд, есть возможность взять кофе с собой, кофемашина с выбором, довольно удобно, цена на кофе аккуратная и вежливая, сахар бесплатно. Залов два, чуть отгороженые друг от друга декоративно, в дальнем зале барная стойка, есть мороженое и проч. Имеются как столики со стульями и кое-где креслами в центре залов, так и диванчики вдоль стены. Народу почти всегда много, пиковые наплывы обед и вечер. Санитайзер всегда под рукой рядом с кофемашиной. Помещение полуцоколь, окон немного, но света чтобы не промазать ложкой мимо рта достаточно, бра на стенах и люстры на потолке. Прямо на раздаче есть охлаждаемое пиво и вино для желающих. Теперь к минусам, посуду нужно мыть лучше, особенно подносы, несмотря на большую проходимость и понятные перегрузки на мойке, но мыть тем не менее нужно лучше. Мало, на огромное помещение всего три кабинки в туалете, и понятно, почему в пиковое время бывает очередь в туалет больше десяти человек , на моих глазах однажды доходило до пятнадцати, это, простите, слишком, уж пару писсуаров поставить и мужская часть очереди сразу отпадёт, все станет намного быстрее, возможно хватило бы и одного писсуара, хотя бы одного. По указанным причинам рекомендую занимать в часы пик две очереди, одну в туалет помыть руки (кстати, диспенсеры для мыла далеко не всегда полны мылом), и вторую очередь собственно за едой на раздаче. Пока кажется все по этой столовой. Фото немного прилагаю. Четыре звезды с натяжкой несмотря на массу плюсов, минусы перекрывают, по хорошему конечно надо бы ставить...
