Piazza della Libertà — Attraction in City of San Marino

One of the most important squares in the city of San Marino is certainly Piazza della Libertà. It is located not far from the main front door, on a strategically beautiful spot. Located in a central area, this square overlooks some of the most important buildings of the city such as the Palazzo Pubblico, the Parva Domous and the Angels houses (of the 14. century), while the fourth side is a belvedere on the magnificent hills of the Republic, one beautiful balcony on the view on the Montefeltro. Precisely because of this strategic position and because of its size, it is often the site of events such as concerts and fairs. A great place to enjoy the charms of San Marino. Exactly in the center of the square it is possible to notice the fountain with the famous Statua della Libertà di San Marino ( Statue of Liberty of San Marino ), a work in white marble from Carrara, by the sculptor Stefano Galletti, donated to the city by the countess Otilia Heyroth Wagener as a symbol of freedom. Several times during the day in the this main square of the Guardia di Rocca alternating guards. Their uniforms are striking and very cheerful. They are dressed in dark green jackets with white knits and have red pants....

San Marino place is a must to see. It is small country but its a nice place to visit for a day or how many days you want. We are very lucky at that time when we visit coz the sun is smiling widely. But after we left a heavy rain approached. Atleast we had a good time. Visit this place when the sun is around, always check the weather forecast all the time so that you alarm. Una delle piazze più importanti nella città di San Marino è sicuramente la Piazza della Libertà. Situata in una zona centrale, su questa piazza si affacciano alcuni degli edifici più importanti della città quali il Palazzo Pubblico, la Parva Domous e le case Angeli (del XIV Sec), mentre il quarto lato è un belvedere sulle magnifiche colline della Repubblica, uno splendido balcone sul Montefeltro. Proprio per questa posizione strategica e per la sua grandezza (possiamo dire che, nonostante possa sembrare piccola, tra le mura di San Marino le sue dimensioni sono ben oltre la media) è spesso sede di eventi come concerti e fiere. Esattamente al centro della piazza è possibile notare la fontana con la famosa Statua della Libertà di San Marino, un’opera in marmbo bianco di Carrara, dello scultore Stefano Galletti, donata alla città dalla contessa Otilia Heyroth Wagener come simbolo di libertà. In quest’opera, la libertà viene rappresentata come una guerriera che avanza con una bandiera nella sua mano sinistra ed una corona su cui sono state poste le tre torri simbolo di San Marino.
