Bar Piadineria La Capanna — Restaurant in City of San Marino

I will only rate 1 because 0 is not possible. So my boyfriend and I sat down here, wanting to order some lunch. It’s a bit complicated with me because I have a lot of food allergies, but I have never experienced any issues in Italy or other countries in Europe. I wanted to order a pizza, but that wasn’t possible because the dough was frozen with cheese on it. So we decided to just order some drinks in this hot weather in San Marino. So we ordered one sprite and one coke, the soda arrived in sad glasses with no ice cubes or nothing. The order looked very sad.

I wish we never ordered anything here. When we wanted to pay by card the waiter made me aware of that the minimum bill to pay by card was 10 euro. What kind of stupid rule is that? When the waiter told us we couldn’t order the pizza, and then ordered only drinks he could have told us that to pay by card we would have to order something more. We only wanted drinks, and sadly we didn’t have any cash. When the waiter came to take the payment, which took forever by the way he then told us we couldn’t pay but card if we didn’t buy anything else. This was the first time I was made aware of that, sadly I didn’t see it on the menu when we first ordered and the waiter never told us about it. So we ended up having to buy 3 water bottles so the bill would extend 10 euro….

Always have cash if you ever decide to dine in...

We came here mainly for the views – and they were absolutely stunning. The location, just below the Guaita Tower, offers a spectacular panoramic view over San Marino and the surrounding landscape. It’s definitely worth stopping by for the scenery alone.

We ordered two Margherita pizzas, but unfortunately they tasted like reheated frozen pizzas. Edible, but nothing special. Based on our experience and other reviews, this place is more about the location than the food quality.

The staff were polite and service was smooth, but nothing particularly memorable. Prices were reasonable considering the location.

I do not recommend. Not very tasty food, but filling. But we consider the biggest problem with the girlfriend to be the completely inappropriate behavior of the waiter (age approx. 45 years old) when paying. With a stupid question whether I or the woman pay or me or the woman with a very blunt tone. This is totally insulting behavior as if a woman should be a gold digger or something! At the same time, my girlfriend and I have been together for over x years and we both pay each other 50/50, once for me and once for her. In my business, this man would be fired immediately for an hour, no questions asked!!!
