Ordered Lasagna which mirrors Italyâs classic version but with local twists:
it's Pasta is thin, homemade egg noodles.
it's Sauces is rich ragĂč (with pork, beef, or game) and creamy bĂ©chamel.
it's Cheeses is parmigiano-Reggiano and local pecorino or ricotta.
it has local flavors like wild mushrooms, truffles, San Marinoâs fiorentino salami and green spinach pasta.
It's served in baked golden, paired with Sangiovese wine.đ
And
I also ordered belforte porchetta which is a famous Italian delicacy, particularly associated with Belforte del Chienti, a town in the Marche region of central Italy. Porchetta is a traditional savory, fatty, and moist boneless pork roast, seasoned with herbs like rosemary, garlic, fennel, and sometimes wild herbs, then slow-roasted to perfection.
What Makes Belforte Porchetta Special because of it's heritage & tradition, or it's known for its high-quality porchetta, often made following centuries-old recipes.
The pork is generously rubbed with salt, pepper, garlic, and wild fennel, giving it a distinctive aromatic flavor. The meat is rolled, tied, and slow-roasted for hours until the skin becomes crispy (crackling) while the inside stays tender and juicy. Itâs enjoyed in a panino (sandwich) with just a bit of bread.
Lastly, I ordered a
San Marino fresh orange juice made from locally sourced citrus fruits. While San Marino itself doesnât have large-scale orange groves due to its mountainous terrain, the small, picturesque microstate surrounded by Italy, is known for its high-quality agricultural products. It's ts proximity to Italyâs citrus-rich regions (like Sicily and Calabria) means you can enjoy exceptionally fresh and flavorful orange juice there. It's freshly Squeezed made from blood oranges (arance rosse) or Tarocco oranges, giving it a vibrant color and sweet-tart taste. Unlike commercial juices, itâs typically free from additives, preservatives, or excessive pasteurization. It has a balanced flavorâless sugary than store-bought versions. đđ
In Italian dining culture, coperto (literally meaning "covered") refers to a fixed per-person charge added to your bill in restaurants, trattorias, and sometimes cafĂ©s. Itâs not a tip but a standard fee meant to cover:
Bread and sometimes other table snacks like grissini or olives
Table service
Basic overhead costs
Look for "coperto incluso" (included) or ask "Ă incluso il coperto?" to avoid surprises. đ

Read moreLocation wise this hotel is just superb. There is a main car park just a few steps away and itâs easily accessibly by foot (as long as you do mind steep steps) from further down. The greeting from reception on arrival was also brilliant - genuinely friendly and personable, with the whole check-in process being informative and a map of the city provided. There reception area has a nice couple of sofas if you need to hang around for any reason and thereâs lots of articles and photos on the walls to admire.
I had booked a single room for my short stay and ended up on the first floor with a âcity viewâ. This turned out only to be the narrow street outside and a shop opposite but it was fine, and surprisingly not as noisy as you\d expect. Although it was advertised as a single room the bed was more like a small double, although only accessible from one side being positioned against the wall. It was comfortable enough and with a small bedside table with lighting controls and an electric socket, practical. The TV was a very small unit on the top of the wardrobe but I never used it. The bathroom was a good size with everywhere spotlessly clean. The shower was pretty small once using it but it was powerful.
It was quite a hot day during my stay so it was a shame that the air-conditioning, while fitted, was practically useless and I was also disappointed that there were no drink making facilities in the room, despite plenty of cupboards in which to store something. A few photos or some artwork on the room walls wouldnât go amiss either.
The restaurant on the ground floor is a nice space and the indoor bar area pleasant enough to relax in with a drink during the day. Prices were reasonable and donât rule it out despite being spoilt for choice in the area.
Checking out was a real treat with the member of staff assisting well with my onward travel plans and it felt like nothing was too much trouble for the team. Overall it was the staff members, as well as superb location, which would make me revisit. The room was alright for a short stay and higher categories are probably more comfortable, but itâd certainly be on my shortlist for a...
Read moreStayed at San Marino for one night, the right choice to stay at this hotel located at old town, easy access to all part of attraction. The San Marino towers were just a few steps from the hotel. Hotel is very nice four stars, small lobby but the staffs are so nice. The room is old style but still acceptable. The rooms facing the street are quite noisy as San Marino is full of tourists the whole day except during night time. This hotel also has a famous restaurants just beside the lobby. The breakfast room is located one floor under the lobby, the breakfast was excellent with hot items and the view from the dining rooms was superb. If you drive then the public area is just less than two minutes walk,if you took bus from Rimini then expect some hundred steps from the bus terminal. It will be hard if you have mobility problems or huge luggages. Overall, highly recommended and certainly...
