First thing you will notice when you walk into the restaurant is the beautiful view you get from the terrace. The landscape is breathtaking and the very open deck lets the wind flow through the room.
Now onto the food and service. We were a group of 6, the waiters and waitresses were lovely the moment we set foot on in the restaurant, and we got sat down very fast. The menu was presented very well and every single dish was worth checking out for how good they sounded, before ordering, the waitresses brought us bread and homemade 'biscuits' that were both good. The drinks were brought to us very quickly.
Now for the dishes:
I, personally, took a 'Crudo di Parma' (See picture down below) and it was delicious, the crust was thin and crispy almost all the way through, the ingredients tasted amazing and everyone around the table were very satisfied with their food. Furthermore, the service was fast and flawless, I'd also like to add that even if you don't speak Italian (like me) every waitress speaks at least English and doesn't treat you like a dumb tourist.
As for the dessert I took the 'Pesche' (See picture down below) which were delicious, not too sweet of a dessert and ended the dinner perfectly...well that's what I thought until the staff brought us a bottle of liquor as digestive ! It was free and tasted amazing, so amazing in fact that we bought another bottle to take home for only 13 ⬠which considering the price of liquors in general was very cheap.
Over all if I could give this restaurant a 10 I would but am only limited to 5 stars, I'll repeat myself again but the staff was amazing and every little attention they made towards us just rendered the dinner that much more pleasant.
It's a must do if you visit St-Marino and I hope to come back...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreComing here in October; out of season. Friendly welcome.. fast with Menu, taking order and delivering drinks. Upper Terrasse has some 50 to 60 places and I see three people in service... that is quite acceptable.
The Terrace view is being charged 2 Euro. However you only have a view when you sit in the first two rows... I am a tourist so the charge is fine.
They put bread on your table at 2 euro. If you do not want this tell them.
Fine wines and even local beer (@ 7 Euro a bottle phew) and the blonde, blonde is more an ipa as an export.
I saw them sanitising tables immediately after some guest left. Also a good sign.
Food: from ordering to delivery it took some 15min.
I had bacalao mix for starters and a regular pizza. Bacalao was nice. A pinch of salt felt missing but that is up to taste.
Pizza piccante arrived 10min after i had finished the starters.. big wheel of happiness.. jucy crusty and the picante is picante! and you know what I also do find important... the table was tough enough to cut the pizza. I hate it ro cut pizza on a wobbly piece of old furniture! If you want pre cut pizza ask for tailgate...
Also the knife did its job!
Overall a nice experience and the view is wonderful. If coming back then for the evening.. with candle lights and hopefully not too loud...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBad service, mid food and an overall bad experience. We were really exited to eat at this restaurant after reading the good reviews, but were highly disappointed. It feeld like we were treaded different than the Italians on the other tables and maybe in generell worse than the other tourists. Other than the tables with Italian guests, we werenāt served bread and a dip as a beginner and our waiter had from the beginning an arrogant attitude towards us. After taking the first order, as the first guests, and the waiter almost throwing the oils on the table, one of us 4 received his food after about 8 minutes while the rest of us waited for more then 30 minutes until another waiter saw that we still didnāt get our food and ran into the kitchen. This waiter came to our table afterwards and apologized while telling us that our food will soon be ready, while our waiter didnāt even bother to stop at our table once or apologize. The only thing we got from him, was him rolling his eyes at uns and rudely rushing us while calling us like some taxi to the next room to pay and clear the table. The food that took so long where 2x mageritas and a fungi btw und they definitely werenāt worth the wait. There are way better pizzas in Italy and I would raid the pizza most...
