A slightly salty review of Sea Life — lots of people, little fish, expensive tickets. I went to sea life as a kid, when you could still hear touch all of the fish. I wanted to take my kid for that same experience, and while they enjoyed it, I did not. The whole set up hasn’t changed since the nineties and feels like it’s straight out of movie set for some B-movie. There are literally vending machines with candy and drinks everywhere sometimes two in one room. The vending machines crowd out the tanks and the fish and in between the bad lightening and poor air circulation, if they put some slot machines in—it would be hard to know if you’re in Sea World or Holland Casino. It was very crowded and the set up was too narrow for the number of people, which really should be capped. They have some nice sections with different types of animals including a small crocodile and and the penguins. But the enclosures are small making it hard to enjoy the experience. The underwater tunnel feels like you’re actually diving, as the air circulation is terrible and it feels like you’re deprived of oxygen walking through it. Some of the windows desperately need a clean, for instance it was near impossible to see the otters because the glass was stained so badly. I like that they did some education on environmentalism here and there and that they contribute to breeding various species. That being said, for a whopping 64-65 euros for two adults and 1 kid, this place really needs to be lifted out of the nineties. If I’m going to be paying Disney prizes I’m going to expect a ride, rather than a school of vending machines and plenty of people rather than fish in the Sea (Life)

A cute experience with a nice array of sea life to explore :) I went with my partner and we enjoyed it. It took around two hours to complete, and I really recommend it if you’re looking for a nice date/family outing~ there’s lot of variety of creatures like jellyfish, sharks, and even a turtle from what I remember! Only downside is during the piranha feeding it was really congested in such a small area. Make sure to take note of feeding schedules, because it’ll be hard to pass through. Also, we weren’t able to see the penguins or the otters because it was too cold out that day (I assumed, so the little guys in the enclosure were probably sleeping haha). I didn’t mind though, as I was already satisfied with what I’ve seen by then. Overall I enjoyed the experience, and the feeding of the piranhas was nice because the staff spoke in English for us and other tourists :) The ocean is something I love dearly, so it was awesome adding this experience to my visual library of sea creatures.

This is one of the smaller Sealifes I have been to, so the focus here is more on smaller fishes and other inhabitants of the sea. The most part consist of the inside area with themed regions, which are prepared nicely with decorations etc. Everything has descriptions in three languages (Dutch, German, English) and there is a lot of educational stuff for children. The outside area consists of the penguin and fish otter enclosure. The main tank with walkable tunnel and windows from several directions is also comparably smaller and does not inhabit big sharks etc, but appropriately sized fish. In general my impression was that most tanks are large enough for the size/amount of animals inside. Lastly, presentations and feedings are Dutch only, but there are information sheets prepared in other languages to follow the show. It takes roughly 1-1.5 hours for a complete round, but it is also not as expensive as other bigger aquariums.

I had low expectations for this place bc my bf told me it was bored and short and I saw a couple of comments like that but for me was an amazing experience that everyone must to take at least once in life.. is true, is small but is really really beautiful and so educational.. we were lucky to saw the piranhas show and we met a lovely guide from chile and she was fantastic explaining everything even about other animals, she definitely makes the difference super friendly and so smart telling us super interesting facts about all the animals and sea life😍🐠 I was so happy! We could not see the octopus and the pinguins 😪 but I guess that rarely you can see them all at the same time.. i confirmed that with others comments.. we spend 2 hours walking taking pics and learning so much..

Price was a bit on the steep side for the size of the place, but on the other hand, the amount of space they got they used well. The otters were a lot of fun. Penguins were nowhere to be found unfortunately, we were there at 11:00, perhaps asleep? Corona measures prevented us from going back to check later, and it also makes that people stand waiting in line behind you which doesn't give you the possibility to check out things as good as you'd like. But of course that's not the owner's fault, no one likes the mandatory corona measures any more than the other. They did their best to make it as least annoying as possible, the rest is up to how everyone behaves. Anyway, nice exhibits. Not an absolute must see, but if you're in Scheveningen anyway, worth to check out.

Good sea life collection. Beautifully displayed. Have many sea creatures like turtle, sea horse, shark, crocodile, otters, penguins, jelly fish, stingray, octopus, and many others. Corals are also very beautifully displayed, especially with night effects. Huge original sea shell is on display. Special area for children to play and color sea life pictures. The souvenir shop at the end has many gift items related to sea life. A demonstrator explained key features of crab with the help of an artificial crab. 4 PM is Penguins feed time. It is made into a special event when a person enters penguins habitat to feed them with fish. Tickets were priced at 22 Euros both online and at the counter, though the price shown on the web was 21 Euros.
