We have been on several day charters in STJ. The goal of this trip was to go all the way around STJ, we have never done that before. Captain Kirk was happy to accommodate. We cruised in and out of all the bays, got some great stories and dialog from Kirk. We hit a couple snorkel spots, Waterlemon and Salt Pond, both great options. We hit Lime Out for a drink and Pizza Pi for lunch. The cooler was well stocked with water, rum punch, variety of beers. Best we have ever experienced. This was a really nice touch. Other boats we have been on provided water and a single kind of beer…so the rum, the beer variety, very nice.

Overall experience was just excellent!!

Boat: The boat is fantastic. Eats up the waves nice, obviously newly re-done, spacious and comfortable. Easy to get in and out of, nice sound system, fresh water rinse…all good. I think I remember noodles on the boat, a lot of people just like to find a quiet bay and float with a beer for a bit. Having those is a good idea.

Captain: EXCELLENT. What a guy, what a life he has had. Enjoyed talking to him very much. He obviously is very well qualified, great knowledge of the islands and our entire group felt very secure in his hands. He was and is an asset, no doubt. Incredibly accommodating for what we were interested in.

Business: Very easy to book a trip, very easy to communicate with you. I liked that you called prior to our trip to ask some questions, nice touch. I liked the balance and gas just getting handled, versus having to hit the gas pump, etc. All was very convenient for the guests.

Went out with Shades of Blue Charters today for a full day tour of St. John’s and a lunch stop on St. Thomas. We were picked up in Cruz Bay on a beautiful power catamaran with twin 300hp Suzuki 4 stroke motors. The engines were super quiet and smooth. The boat had a Bimini cover for the entire boat to keep us shaded from the sun. Captain Aaron was delightful and accommodating. He first took us on a sight seeing tour of some of the most beautiful coves on the north side of the island. Then we went snorkeling at a few of his favorite spots that are difficult to access by land. He gave us numerous lunch options, but we ultimately decided on Sapphire Beach on St. Thomas since we had not been over there. The food was great and there were multiple options including gourmet pizza and tacos overlooking a gorgeous beach with probably the nicest view of the islands to be found. Booking the boat was also quite easy and they were very responsive answering the phone. This was our family’s favorite day in St. John getting to see the islands by private boat. We recently had the pleasure of booking a charter with Shades of Blue out of St. Thomas, and it was an experience we will never forget. From start to finish, our trip was absolutely perfect. Our captain, Mike was incredibly knowledgeable and took us to all the best snorkeling spots. The vibrant marine life and crystal-clear waters made for an unforgettable underwater adventure. We felt like we were swimming in a tropical paradise. In addition to the snorkeling, our captain also recommended and took us to some fantastic local restaurants.
