I bought a beef wrap and daily bowl for dinner at the Jem outlet. I usually enjoy stuff’d food as it is a healthier choice without compromising on the taste. However, I would like to highlight the lack of efficiency in processes and SOP especially at the Jem outlet especially during peak hours. Despite having only 3 pax in front of me, I waited close to 15 mins for my turn to reach the counter for the lady to take my order. After taking my order, she was distracted with the multiple delivery orders that keep coming in and she subsequently chose to do that first when I was standing right in front at the counter. She was doing that before my turn which had also resulted in the wait for the customers in front of me. There was enough manpower as the others were doing other tasks. But as a result of the multiple delivery orders, it led to a choke point and the queue got longer and longer and my wait time increased further despite already giving my order. When she finally completed the orders and got back to me, she completely forgot what I ordered and proceeded to add some vegetables which I said not to do so. The wait time (not to mention standing at the counter beside the huge kebab strove - hot!) plus the forgotten order spoiled my whole experience and dinner. I would like to add that the lady tried her best to service the crow but the lack of SOP and assistance from the rest of the employees really sealed the bad experience. When I subsequently told the other staff to provide feedback on the need to review their processes when peak hour hits, I was given a blank stare and somewhat miffed look as if it was an unnecessary scolding. Stuff’d management - please do review the processes to make it more lean and efficient. Otherwise a 20-30 min just to have take out food...
Read moreUpdate Nov 2023: Wow what a shocker from my last review of 5 stars but service attitude really needs improving. Never mind the "black faces", not even responding to morning greetings or a simple thank you on payment, but asking some questions about menu gets a 'look at the sticker' response from service staff. Totally unhelpful tidak apa attitude. Like are you paying your staff or owing them wages because they sure look and behaved really unhappy about working here. Maybe it's inflation but I'll bring my money elsewhere.
Very popular salad shop with reasonable pricing despite recent increases (cough inflation). There's usually quite a queue especially coming towards meal hours and some ingredients get sold out pretty fast. Amount of greens and other ingredients are not so standard and dependent on the duty staff but they do weigh the final amount to ensure your salad is right up to what is stated. Feel free to inform staff about what you prefer less/more of. I did notice the sauces/dressing seems to always be minimal for some reason but that's OK with me. Staff are attentive and tries to help move the queue expediently. There is no seating to dine in here but you can look for seats...
Read moreService at Jem outlet was horrible. There were 2 parts to the selection of daily bowl - first the vegetable and sauces, and then to the next section to select the toppings. So I selected the vegetables, and server 1 passed it to sever 2. Server 2 saw but still stepped out to clean the exterior first. So I waited for him to finish cleaning. And hee new pair of gloves with his dirtied one, trying to separate them and wore it over the old pair. And well, obviously that meant that the new gloves is now dirtied. And despite there being tongs available, he picked up the food with the pair of now dirtied gloves. Time to proceed with payment right? No, he decided to serve the next customerS, and mind you there was a queue and new orders kept coming in from server 1. So I stood and waited again for payment, until I had enough and asked if I could settle payment already. Meanwhile there is another server that was just at the back cleaning, while the customers stand around and just wait. Please improve on your protocols. The whole process from the point of order (i.e. excluding queuing) to when I finally paid took about 15 min, and most of this time was lost...
