The first time me and friends ( 4 persons ) came to dine in (20 Oct 2023 ) It was a great experience we had. Great food, great service as the Malay ladies servers are way too polite and shows so much of hospitality. From appetizer to main dish and desserts all are so delicious. Over all a good ambience. As a customer whenever they experienced a good and excellent service with a great food, they will surely comes back and will recommend it to friend. So I decided to bring my family ( 2 adults and 3 kids, but kids are in European size 😁) the next day, Saturday, 21 October.

So here we go, as we came to the restaurant with my family at 17:45 not many customer yet that time 3 tables occupied? So, A Lady staff approach us ( not the same staff as Friday ) and ask for how many person and we says for 5 and she saw my kids or Us family as we are all in front. Then she point us to sit on the rattan chair and dining table with 4 sitter, so approach her if possible to place us on the right side of the dining where more space to sit on ( Lshape couch ) only 1 family of 6 persons are sitting and eating on that side. But then the lady insist that cannot sit in there as it was use by staff. So no choice as she insist to let us sit on the rattan chair and let us be squeeze in. I’m a little disappointed already to that staff, she’s show attitude. Alright, we try to be patience as we want the food even though I was surprised by the attitude of the staff ( I felt shy to my own family ) As we ordered, food came and serve fast however dishes ( plates) seems needs to wait before it can serve on the table. If never approach for the missing plate don’t think we can eat while food serve hot. So after the main dish , we continue with the desserts. As we ordered a variety of dishes the table was a full of empty plates and pots. As desserts was ordered and fast it was about to serve. The manager, ( I guess he was as he is always in the counter ) but then he was the one who serve us the desert. He came carrying the 3 desserts and just squeeze it on the table where lots of empty and used dish that supposed to be taken out. He seems doesn’t care at all, so surprisingly.

So for us to be able to eat clearly, we call his attention ( the same person, looks like a manager ) and please him to removed the used dining plates. Seems he’s not happy, he does keeping the plate and right in front of my husband where the bottle of water standing in front of him, while filing the plates and pouring left overs from plate to plates and his belly touching the mouth of the water bottle which is half way drunk, seems he doesn’t care at all and continues without any excuses doing the filing of dishes instead of taking a tray and removed it all and place it in the kitchen rather than doing it in front of the customer. What a rude and unpleasant experience with that staff/man/that looks like a manager and the lady who approach Us to sit. I was shocked and disappointed and disgusted by...

It's the weekend and of course I was out hunting for a a nice place to makan. Googled and it brought me to Gateway at Jurong East.

Walked around at the basement and came across Poulet. Nice French-ish inspired restaurant with island and booth seats. We were greeted at the door by a young male wait staff who politely took us to our seats. Prior to that, he took the initiative to ask if we are OK to seat side by side. Not a problem at all as it is the current social distancing situation. We were also given ziploc bags which I assume is to be used to store our mask. Now that's a great initiative.

We were then give our menu, a quick guide to the ordering process via the ipad. After a quick glance, we realised that it's mainly chicken ... hehehe .... and of cos we ordered NOT chicken ... hahaha. Instead we opted for the sirloin. My friend had mac & cheese and corn for sides and requested for medium-well and I opted for fries and aglio olio with medium for the sirloin myself.

Food arrived about 10mins after. We definitely wasn't disappointed with out steaks cos it was done just right. Slightly charred on the outside and juicy on the inside. Just that my friends was just slightly more done. However, the sauce was a minor point of contention. It seemed watered down, too thin. I still enjoyed my meal though. Oh, we also ordered chicken wings as a starter a sriracha glazed one. It was alright.

The staff was bustling around, trying to be attentive and efficient I must say. However, throughout the whole meal, I felt something missing and then it hit me, the whole place was nice and good but it lacked warmth. It didn't seem very inviting and that unfortunately is their minus. The food is one thing but the feeling when a diner steps in is another thing altogether. Other then that, the food, service and environment was nice.

Kind of half half about Poulet so probably will visit it again. Nevertheless it was an above average meal.

Poulet is a delightful and family friendly restaurant that offers an exceptional dining experience with its array of delectable food items. I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and tried their mushroom risotto, tiramisu, half chicken with two side dishes, and creamy chicken carbonara with my family members. We were thoroughly impressed by the quality and taste of each dish.

I had the mushroom risotto, which was cooked to perfection. The creamy risotto was perfectly seasoned, and the Arborio rice was cooked al dente. The dish was topped with parmesan cheese, which added a lovely depth of flavor to the risotto. The risotto was rich and flavorful, and the portion size was generous.

I had tiramisu for my dessert. It was simply divine. The dessert was light and airy, with just the right amount of sweetness. The layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream were perfectly balanced, and the dusting of cocoa powder on top added a lovely bitter-sweet taste. The portion size was again quite generous, making it an excellent choice for sharing.

My hubby tried the half chicken with two side dishes (mashed potatoes and mixed salad) which was cooked to perfection. The chicken was juicy and succulent, with a crispy skin on top. The chicken was marinated with a blend of herbs and spices, which added a lovely depth of flavor to the dish.

My daughter had the chicken carbonara, and she says that it was one of the best she has ever had. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the creamy carbonara sauce was perfectly seasoned. The dish was topped with chunks of tender chicken, which added a lovely texture to the dish.

Overall, I would highly recommend Poulet to anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience. The food is exceptional, and the service is excellent. Poulet is definitely worth a visit, and I am looking forward to my...

Tried Poulet for the first time today — and possibly the last. We were among the first few to arrive right at opening, yet it was clear the kitchen was understaffed even during the lunch rush. That’s a red flag for any dining experience. Poulet is known for its signature roast chicken, and some of my friends rave about it. But today, I was in the mood to explore beyond the usual, so we sampled a variety of other items on the menu. Glazed Winglets with Sriracha Sauce I was actually looking forward to this, but sadly, it didn’t live up to expectations. It was a classic case of “pictures are for illustration only.” The winglets looked underwhelming, and despite the generous portion (8 pieces), they were dry and uninviting. I would have preferred fewer pieces with better quality and size. Quality over quantity, please. Tiger Prawns Aglio Olio The pasta itself was decent and well-seasoned. However, the prawns were a letdown — dry and tough, as though they’d been over-grilled or pan-seared too long. And if you’ve already taken the effort to de-shell them, why not go the extra step and remove the vein too? Creamy Salmon Pot Pie This took 35 minutes to arrive. Taste-wise, it wasn’t bad, but I found it a little too salty for my liking. Drinks Redberry Pineapple: Not terrible, but had a syrupy, almost medicinal taste that might not appeal to everyone. Lychee Pomme Delight: This one was surprisingly pleasant — the apple and lychee blend worked well. Appreciate that they offer a “less ice” option for drinks — a small but thoughtful touch. Final Bill: $70.14 for two Worth it? Not quite. Would I return? Ermmm… leaning toward no.
