We booked the SkySauna as a special date in Helsinki to enjoy a very unique sauna experience. It was very easy to book online with the web inquiry form. For a weekend, it was €290/hour (additional hours are 50% discounted) This includes the sauna car, changing hut with toilets & showers and a harbor side private hot tub. You are also provided towels and a stocked cooler to enjoy two drinks/person, as well as a portable speaker to bring into the sauna. It was a beautiful experience and the staff is very friendly and helpful. An hour is a good amount of time for two people, but groups should definitely book additional time. Was definitely one of the more unique saunas in Finland and made for a memorable date experience.

We arrived in Helsinki on our cruise and took a quick 10 minute taxi ride to the open air market. We saw the skywheel which was just a 5 minute walk. Designed in blue and white to match the Finnish flag it is a magnificent piece of engineering which apparently only took 2 weeks to assemble. The people are very friendly and they have a VIP option which includes a bottle of champagne. Once up at the top of the wheel you have an unbelievable view of the capital and can spend a few minutes taking in all there is to see. At the end of the ride you have the option of purchasing pictures with different backgrounds (courtesy of the green background which they overlay) Highly recommended

SkyWheel Helsinki offers quite a view over Katajanokka, the Market Square (Kauppatori), and the South Harbor (Eteläsatama). You can watch the ferries leave for the Åland Islands and Sweden. It provides a nice angle to see Uspenski Cathedral, as well as the Helsinki Cathedral a bit further away behind the Presidential Palace. It's 40 meters/131 feet high. For us, it gave three rounds. With the combination ticket with SeaLife, it was cheap. The gondola was spacious for two adults and two kids. Everything looks really blue because of the blue glass of the gondola. There was no queue or rush on a Saturday afternoon.

Sometimes you don’t need to ride it to enjoy it – the view from a distance has its own magic. The giant wheel slowly spins above the harbor like something out of a Nordic sci-fi movie. Add a sunset or a layer of mist over the water, and suddenly the whole scene feels like someone accidentally dropped the London Eye into Helsinki. It’s the kind of attraction that works both for tourists and locals who need a reminder that their city looks pretty great from above. And by the way – one of the cabins is actually a sauna. Yes, seriously. Finland. Enough said.

I made it my mission to visit as many wheels as possible in every major city I travel to, and compare with others. This one did not disappoint. It takes you around for about 12 or so minutes and the price per adult is quite reasonable and affordable for an adventure such as this one. You can see the harbour and the two popular cathedrals of Helsinki from the wheel. I would recommend this even if you are in Helsinki for one night, why not go on the wheel, take pics, vids, selfies, etc and showcase your work.
