A very frustrating late night check-in as the promised email with the required door code was not sent UNTIL I used Whats App at 01:00 AM to then further inefficiently try to communicate with the off site hotel contact person on duty at that time. AND I had booked direct AND I had reminded the hotel the week before our arrival by email (which they then acknowledged) that I expected the arrival communication to come to our supplied gmail. We had been flying from Oz for near 2 days so I did not need this unprofessional hassle. Others have flagged this basic failure of the hotel’s communication processes for out of hour’s arrivals.|We were in room 202 from the 20th of May which like all the tram side rooms; is just too noisy. Only about 5-8 m between my pillow to the closest of the two tracks and with hundreds of city trams / day on that route. Yes there are solid windows but the noise was just not kept out and there was no way that you could leave a window open for fresh air of an evening with the ongoing tram movements. Odd numbered rooms would not have this tram noise problem.|The apartment room was clean, modern and mostly well set up; BUT:|Why no room safe?|Why only one space for a large suitcase?|Why only 4 sugar sachets and 3 tea bags supplied for a 5 night stay; with no further room service factored in? The hotel emailed me after 2 nights and asked what could be done to make the stay better; so I immediately replied BUT I never then got a response (or any more sugar, etc).|Why no tea towel or kitchen sponge wipe supplied?|You have to enter the supplied access code at FOUR places to get to your room after hours = security overkill. |Typical too hot continental quilts and near useless thin and too soft pillows. |Nice towels though.|The air con seemed impossible to get below approx 22 C and it was only mid May.|The water outlet for the bidet leaked. Does room service not do a proper audit between stays? Does management never then check these checkers?|There was damage to one of the blind controllers that I photographed on our arrival. Why not have a maintenance request, old fashioned hard copy form, left in the room for departing guests? Not all of your guests are trendy Bob like people too; who must be happy to live on their phones.|The washing machine (with some appreciated wash product) and the mostly useful full kitchen in the apartment, were the two key reasons that we had booked here as part of our 6 week Baltic travels.|We never saw any hotel concierge type person on site. I can see how others complain about the difficulty of leaving bags from an early arrival or post checking out, for a later collection.|Time for management here to review their customer communication processes and not use auto generated comms that do not then get closely / ever watched / responded to.|We stay overseas approx 100 nights per year and this stay should have been a 5 star stay. It was not.|Just saying sorry to me from my review here, does not really bring about the required system’s...
Read moreJust returned from a two night stay with our family of four. We had a lux apartment which was very spacious, had two toilets and two bedrooms plus a sauna in the bathroom which was fantastic. The apartment was airy and comfortable. The beds were good and everything clean. The apartment felt luxurious and homely.||It was great to have a washing machine/dryer plus a dishwasher to help make the stay really convenient and everything you could need in the kitchen was available, plus tea and coffee provided. ||The light switches were a bit confusing with multiple switches, some seemed to come trip whole circuits and some individual lights but it was tricky to do them in the right order or work out which controlled what so spent a lot of time flicking switches!||There is a shop in the building which was very handy. There is a roof terrace that can be used when no private events on, we were not able to use due to events but did go up for a look and it was fantastic.||The location was fairly quiet but not too far out, 20 min walk to the centre, 5 mins to the Allas Pool. Would recommend the Old Market Hall which was 10 minute walk and also the ferry to Suomenlinna. Trams stop outside although we did tend to use uber/bolt.||Never had any issues with the door codes and staff were responsive on WhatsApp with any questions. ||Only issue was on arrival, uber dropped us outside entrance b and we couldn’t find entrance c which was the one we needed so it took quite some time to get into our apartment. There is a Bob W Concierge in the building but this was unmanned even though it did say there should be someone there 9-5 weekdays. When checking out we wanted to store our luggage, again there was no one in the concierge office but we messaged on WhatsApp and they asked their colleague...
Read moreMyself and fiancé have just got back from a three night stay here and it was perfect. |The apartment was clean, spacious and had everything you needed (and more) to make the stay a really comfortable experience. |You get some really nice added bonuses here that I have not experienced anywhere else such as complimentary gym membership, a vehicle available to hire and use for an hourly/daily rate, an array of chargers and cables if you had forgotten anything and an instant camera to be able to take some memorable city snaps! I don’t know if this is offered at every BOB location, but it certainly is here. ||The bed was super comfortable and we both slept really well for the duration of our visit. |Having a kitchenette in the room was a really nice addition and it enabled us to be independent and save some money by prepping our own breakfast before heading out in the morning. ||The bathroom/shower facilities were clean and included everything you needed for the ideal spruce such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hair dryer. ||Despite there being no reception as such, the WhatsApp help was quick, concise and answered all my questions immediately. ||IF, I had to include just a couple of things that were “not perfect” it would be that the television in our room was temperamental…. Required us unplugging it at the mains to reset it on a couple of occasions. |Not the end of the world as we were not there to watch TV. |In addition the code in elevator did not always work straight away, this then prevented you from moving until it registered…. As someone who is not keen on lifts this put me off and I opted for the stairs. ||Overall I would return to this or another BOB W in a heartbeat. Superb...
