Food & Service: Firstly the cocktail was good. I then ordered the chicken and veg for my pet it took a while but at the time didn’t think much of it. My dog enjoyed it. I then ordered my own my meal, clams. This took close to an hour for them to prep it. I was so shocked. 15 min in I told them to please cancel it because I’ve been waiting already my dog needs to potty I prefer to eat around the same time as my dog. They told me I couldn’t. Fine I waited. Almost 40 min later the food was ready. Apparently the clams take long. I asked another waiter how long do clams take to prepare they said 15-20min. I asked why was I waiting for nearly an hour. My dog needs to potty. They gave me an excuse that clams take long to prepare fine - but no one is going to wait an hour for food, no good restaurant would let a person wait a hour for food and they were barely busy. I watched people order drinks, eat, lick their plates and leave. While I sat there while a dog that was getting impatient, calming him down as I waited for my food. I stood up again my food was ready I did not even want the food! I asked for a take away box and left. Not even 3 steps out of the restaurant my dog potty’s - a runny one at that (probably won’t let him eat from there again). Not happy at all!! I complained to the manager and waiter but they seemed unsympathetic. Really disappointed ruined a really nice day for me. Left hopeless as there is not much dog friendly restaurants.
Not negating from other people’s experience, however there is a lot of room to improve be open to feedback and when you mess up! Make the customer feel better and make them want to come back despite the bad experience. Forgiveness is key.
Atmosphere: Good, you are overlooking the Prom and they are extremely accommodating to pets. They give them a special seat and there are water bowls by the outdoor seating area.

The atmosphere is great and everyone seems to enjoying themselves. I unfortunately didn't have the same experience. Our waiter was wonderful when he came to introduce himself and took our drinks orders but that was the last time we saw him.. after a while, I noticed I didn't see him anywhere, as I wanted to check on our drinks but in the mean time someone else, took our food order. Then another waiter took our drinks order again.. we didn't know what happened to our 1st waiter, he was just gone but there was no communication..I was at a point of just getting up and leaving because at that point 2 people asked for drink orders. We had to tell them who took what order... it was really a bad experience as some time had passed and it felt like no knew who's doing what.
Eventually our drinks came and eventually our food. I chose not to order a second drink but my friend did which took more time.
As for the food, I was even more disappointed.. I only enjoyed the chips.. the burger, well, if I ever decide to go there again, it won't be the burger I choose, which there is only 2 to choose from... it was not good at all.
So my 1st experience wasn't the greatest, but I won't say I will never return because I know it's probably not like that all the time but it won't be an...
Read moreA lovely Mediterranean restaurant located in Moullie Point, Sotano has a spacious, airy and simply decorated interior.
The menu had a number vegetarian options, I actually asked the waitress for her suggestion of what to order. In the end I eventually selected the long stem broccoli and the hot honey halloumi.
The brocoli was well cooked, firm and slightly tender, which could have used a bit more chilli for my liking. The star of the show, however was the halloumi dish. Served on a flat bread with a creamy coriander yoghurt and of course topped with the halloumi covered in the delicious chilli infused honey.
I have to say I have not put a more delicious morsel in my mouth. From the slightly sweet and spicy flavor of the chili infused honey to the texture if the halloumi this dish was delightful.
To finish I ordered the churros, it came though after we began to settle the bill, however I do believe it was worth the wait. The churros were large, fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. Served with an orange infused chocolate dipping sauce, the citrus flavour in the chocolate balanced the dessert fantastically.
Overall a good dinner experience, with decent service, in a lovely setting. I will definitely be back to try the hot honey halloumi and some the other...
