Dog beach - one of the few in this area. The sandy beach is quite small, and often feels a bit untidy and unloved. It's not a swimming beach, as there are rocks between the sand and sea. However, at low tide the rock pools are perfect for clambering around in. The biodiversity changes year on year, so visiting never gets old. Although there is a parking lot there are no ablution facilities, but the Green Point Park is only a 10 min walk away, where there is a coffee shop and ablution block. This is a good spot to sit and watch the dolphins or seals though, if...

It's not as busy as other spots close to the promenade but you still get gorgeous views of Robben Island and Blouberg Beach. The seagulls will harass you so be careful and don't leave food unattended in the open. Sweet spot to pull in for a Sunday car picnic. Beach not suitable for swimming or lounging at unless you're into rocks poking your back. Great for exploring but make sure little ones are...

A rocky beach mostly frequented by people passing by on their promenade walk. Sometimes it smells from seaweed/sewage and it's not popular for swimming. A lovely place to watch the boats pass from the harbour or see the sunset. Benches on the promenade and parking on the roadside. We sat on the grass bank to watch the sail boats...

Great place to spend a Sunday afternoon with the family. Fresh ocean smell, warm breeze and a relaxed easy atmosphere make this a great place to walk, skate, cycle, jog or just sit and pass time on a bench or the grass. Perfect for people watching for those who enjoy that. Not too pleasant on a cold rainy or windy day.

The council is set on turning what used to be a beautiful park into just another car sewer. Sure, it's great to promote equitable access to this natural resource, but you do that by fixing the fact that currently there's only one very slow MyCiti bus every 40 minutes on a Saturday.
